C H A P T E R 3

T O B I A S

I wake up in the couch holding Tris. I get up slowly and walk to a closet. I grab a pillow and rest Tris's head in it. I run upstairs and change into grey sweatpants, a basic white muscle shirt and Nike shoes. I then go to the basement and walk inside the gym. I turn on the tv and start working out

30 minutes later

"...98, 99, 100" I'm done doing push ups. I lay on my back facing the ceiling and breath in and out. My phone starts ringing and I answer it without checking the I.D "hello?" I say "hi Tobias are you busy today?" I hear Caleb's voice

"umm not really, why?"

"Madison and I are going to San Diego today and we need someone to babysit Luke. I was wondering if you could watch him just for today, we will be back at night" Caleb says. I stand up and start walking upstairs

"Of course when will you bring him?" I ask him

"In about an hour"

"Okay sure"

"Thank you, bye" Caleb says and hangs up. I pick up Tris and walk up the stairs to our room. I lay her down on bed and then head to the bathroom. I take a quick shower and dry myself off. I put on Khaki shorts, a space Flag tee and Dark blue Sebago shoes. When I get out of the bathroom I see Tris sitting up. She looks up at me with her beautiful grey eyes. I smile and sit in front of her "morning" I kiss her. She smirks and runs her eyes "Caleb is coming over to drop off Luke so go get ready" I fell her and she nods. I kiss her forehead and walk downstairs to the kitchen. I make two omelets for Tris and me and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for Luke when he gets here. That's his favorite. I pour ice tea in two cups and juice for Lucas.

The bell rings and I go to answer the door. When I open it I see Caleb carrying a blue bag and Maddison is holding Luke. I take him and we high five. I chuckle because his hand is so tiny compared to mine "okay so you know what to do right?" Maddison asks "yes Maddie chill out, I got it" I say

"Well just in case" Caleb hands me a list with Luke's 'schedule'. I roll my eyes

"get out of my house" I say and they chuckle. They kiss Luke's forehead and hug me "thank you Tobias" Caleb says

"no problem man" they get in the car and drive away. Luke and I wave goodbye. When they are out of sight Lucas turns to face me "hungry" he says frowning. I chuckle "of course you are" I take his stuff and put it in the living room. I then go to the kitchen and sit with him in the counter. I give him the sandwich and he starts eating

"LuKe!" Tris says and kisses his cheek. She's wearing a light pink tank top, black shorts and converse. I give her a quick peck on the lips and give her the plate with the food.

"Ewww" Lucas says and shakes his head. Tris and I laugh. I turn on the tv and put on his favorite show 'Spongebob'. He finishes his sandwich.

"We should go out today" Tris says

"We have to take care of Luke"

"I know, we should go out with Lucas today" she explains

"Oh yeah, how about we go to the zoo" I suggest picking up Luke

"Sure let me get his things" Tris says and leaves to the living room. She comes back with the blue bag and a pair of little shorts for Lucas. She changes Lucas and puts on his shorts.

"Are we ready?" she asks me

"Yep" I say popping out the 'P' and nodding my head. We head outside. I put Lucas in the backseat and buckle his seatbelt. I sit on the drivers seat and turn on the mini tv for Luke. I then turn on the car and drive to the Zoo.
