Katie's POV:

The past two weeks have actually been really good. Nobody causes me trouble and in return, I don't give them a reason to cause me trouble. Cashton has been hanging out with me even though it seems like I bring down his popularity. When I asked him about it on a piece of paper, he shrugged and said he didn't care. That he would rather hang out with me anyway.

When he said that, my face, of course went red as a tomato. Which of course he saw and just smirked. I made four new friends. Amanda, Ian, Aaron, and Rebecca. All of who are really cool. At first when I didn't talk they looked at me a little weird but then they shrugged and continued with their conversation in which I said what I thought about things on paper.

But all good thing must come to an end. So far, whichever girl saw me with Cashton they gave a glare. A glare that said if looks could kill then I would be 6 feet under. But in the short period of time that I hung out with my friends they became quite protective of me an took care of the problems quickly.

Right now though, I am sitting by myself as I usually at lunch since the group eats and I don't. I've never liked cafeteria food and bringing a lunch seems too much of a bother. But as I am sitting their drawing once again, I see a shadow looming over me and I look up to see Belinda. Who is head cheerleader. I see she has both a glare and a smirk on her face which in truth is not a good combination.

I continue looking at her straight in the eye and am unfazed as she suddenly gets in my face and growls. "Stay away from Cashton bitch, or me and you will have some unfinished business." I still just looked at her calmly and slowly let a smirk onto my face.

Oh, if only this girl knew what Cashton really thought of her. I think back to all the rants he had about disliking this girl. Belinda seemed shocked that I actually smirked and brought her hand back like she was about to slap me when.... "Belinda! What the hell do you think your doing?" Caston asks pushing her back and placing himself in front of me protectively. I once asked the group why they are so protective, but they just shrugged nonchalantly and replied that that was what friends were for. "I was teaching her a lesson. She needs to learn her place. And know that you belong to me." Belinda practically screams. But then her eyes glaze over and she goes completely still for about ten seconds before she whimpers and scurries off. "Don't worry Katie. She won't bother you again. I promise." He states. I peek at him curiously and then shrug gathering my things as the bell rings. "Hey. Me and the group were thinking of getting together and studying at my place tonight for the big test in Chemistry Friday. Wanna come and join?"

Well, since it's Monday my grandmother won't be home until real late and I can just sneak back to my room. Ah what the hell. I nod my head yes and he gives me a piece of paper with directions to get to his house and what time we were meeting. I nod my thanks and continue to make my way inside. At my locker, I meet the four other people in my group and they ask me if I will be there tonight, and when I shake my head yes, the girls go ballistic. The guys watch them with smirks and gives me a side hug before going their seperate ways. The girls calm down and try to calmly walk to their class without freaking out again. As I get my stuff, I am met with Cashton who was watching the encounter and we make our way to class as well.

As I make my way in class, I thought of all the good that has happened to me. Besides my grandmother, but the good of my friends in school. But I still get the feeling that it was all about to change soon. After all, isn't calm right before a storm?
