Tiana's POV

My day at the shop drug on and on. By the time 3:00 came I was ready to fall asleep. Having 2 jobs and a kid, was taking its toll on me. "Hey Tiana.'' My boss Janet called me.

I walked over to her tiredly. "Ma'am" I asked

"Are you available to work on Sunday?" She asked. I sighed in frustration. I usually worked extra hours at the club on the weekend, but for some reason, Jonny called to tell me that I don't have to work this weekend. Usually I would argue until he let me work, because the weekends is when I made really good tips, but in lieu of recent events, I needed this weekend off.

"Can't," I say, "I made some important plans with my sin that I can't rearrange." I explain.

"You sure you can't?" She frowns. "A client called wanting braids."

"I can do it Monday." I offer, "but my weekend is full, sorry."

"I don't think that will work." she shakes her head.

I half heartedly listened as Janet tried to butter me up into saying yes, but it's not happening. Janet is perfectly capable of doing braids, but she hates doing them because they take so much time and she's lazy. Usually she'll pawn that shit off on me, but I'm not having it this time. Even if Jason wasn't here, I would be taking this weekend, I work hard, and I deserve some time off, and this bitch was not gonna take it from me just because she's too lazy to do what she chose as a career.

In the middle of Janet's whining, I looked out the window to see Jason pulling up with the boys in tow.

Finishing up the sweeping, I interrupt Janet, once she finishes her sentence.

"Look Janet, I have to go, and I'm sorry, but I can't change my plans this weekend." I say firmly. "My son really needs my attention right now."

"Fine," She huffs, "I'll tell the girl Monday," She then turns and storms off.

I roll my eyes as I go to gather my things. 'That bitch is really something else.' I think to myself, as I grab my purse and walk out of the shop and to the car.

This lady is really going to make a client wait till a workday for box braids, because she more than likely is trying to get some dick, and doesn't want to be inconvenienced, but she has no problem inconveniencing me, a single mother in school with two jobs. Now, I know I've only ever had one in my whole life, but I will never let some dick keep me from getting my coins.

I hopped in the front seat. "Hey guys." I greeted with a smile.

"Hi Momma." Aiden smiled I looked back to him munching on chicken nuggets,

"Hey baby boy." I smiled wider. "How was school guys?"

    "It was cool," Bryson mumbled.

"We learned about different animals today." Aiden offered excitedly

"Really which one did you like the most?"

As Aiden went on to explain his day, Jay put a Mcdonald's bad in my lap. I mouthed a quick 'thank you' and ate while I listened to our son.

"Are we taking you to Granny house Bry?" I asked

"Yeah I got a lot of homework." He mumbled tiredly

I nodded understanding. Bryson was like me in high school. He had mostly AP classes and worked really hard. He was well on the way to getting a scholarship to any school he wanted, and I was very proud of him and I hope that he can do better than me when he gets to my age. Once we pulled up to Granny's house Bryson hopped out after saying bye to Jay and Aiden and kissing me on the cheek. The drive to my apartment was quite aside from the radio. When we got there Jay parked and came around to open my door. I smiled at the gesture a little.
