*Years later*
I hold my left hand up to the light and smile, trying to imagine what it'll be like to have a ring on it for the rest of my life.
My hand goes to the chain around my neck. It feels so empty without Jake's promise ring on it, but I grin even wider when I think about getting a new ring today.
This is the day. Today, I, Amy Dawn Letann, am getting married.
Today, my last name will be changed.
Today, my new life begins.
And I can't wait.
