Everyone looks up from their phones at us, and I can hear them whispering.
Serena: "I can't believe it! What is this?"
Serena says with a red face. I just stare at my phone screen, dumbfounded.
Blair is coming closer, leading a pack of girls.
Blair: "Oh look, speak of the devil."
Rachel, who was interested in Izaac before, is with them.
When our eyes meet, she gives me a sour look and quietly averts her gaze. Blair turns to look at Serena, and then me.
Blair:" You two are perfect together. You know what they say, birds of a feather..."
Serena: "Blair! I don't care what you have to say about me, but leave [Y/N] out of it."
Blair: "But it's true, right? Even Gossip Girl recognizes her for the slut she is."
Blair holds out her phone to show us the text.
Eric: "I don't think that text was from Gossip Girl."
"Really?"
Serena: "What do you mean?"
Eric: "Look at the text. It's just a random comment. There's no incriminating picture. She's never once sent a text slandering someone without any proof before."
Eric says calmly.
Serena: "That's true."
Blair: But Gossip Girl sent it."
Eric: "It could be just a hoax."
Serena: "A hoax?"
Blair: "Don't be silly."
Eric messes with the phone, checking for something.
Eric: "I knew it. This isn't Gossip Girl's usual e-mail address."
Serena and Blair check the address.
Serena: "He's right."
Eric: "On top of that, it looks like it got sent to people who weren't even registered on the site..."
Blair: "So what are you saying?"
Eric: "Someone's pretending to be Gossip Girl."
"But who would do something like that?"
Serena: "Was it you, Blair?"
Blair: "What?! It wasn't me!"
Blair immediately denies it.
While we're talking to Blair and her friends, I can feel everyone's eyes on us.
(So it got sent to everyone here...?)
A jolt goes through me.
"Even my dad?!"
(I don't want to see his reaction when he sees it...)
I quickly turn towards him.
He's still lost in the performance, and it doesn't seem like he's noticed the text yet.
Serena: "We should do something quick about your dad's phone before he sees it..."
"Yeah..."
Serena and I sprint over to where he is.
"Dad!"
Dad: "Yeah? What is it?"
He turns to face me with a smile.
