Episode 5: Judgement Calls (Pt. 2)

It's Samantha, Izaac's stepmother.

Jenny: "That's Izaac's dad's girlfriend, right?"

"Wife. But what's she doing with Chuck?"

Jenny: "Knowing Chuck, nothing good."

Jenny quickly assumes.

(But with Chuck? Why?)

Chuck casually puts his arm around Samantha as they walk.

Jenny whips out her phone and snaps a picture of them both.

"Jenny?"

They go into the building in front of us together.

Jenny: "It's a good shot. I have to share. I bet Gossip Girl will find out what's going on."

"Wait, don't."

Jenny: "What?"

"Don't send it to Gossip Girl."

Jenny: "Why not? Are you friends with Chuck?"

"No, but..."

Jenny gives me an exasperated look.

"The woman is Izaac's stepmother, right?"

Jenny: "I guess. Is that a problem?"

"I don't think he would be happy to see his father's wife all over Gossip Girl."

Jenny: "Right, he's kind of alright. Okay, fine, I won't send it."

"Thanks."

We both take a last glance at the odd couple, but they've already gone inside one of the buildings.

Above the entrance, there's a neon sign that says 'Club Victrola'.

Jenny: "I've heard that's a burlesque club."

"What's that?"

Jenny: "It's like an old-fashioned club, but with girls dancing in lingerie."

"Like a strip club?!"

Jenny: "Sort of, but classier. I mean, girls go there too. I heard it's kind of trendy for couples to go to these places."

"That sounds like a strange place for a date."

Jenny: "Anyway, we won't be able to get in there in our school uniforms."

"You're right. Let's get going then."

I know it's kind of wrong but I'm still really curious about Chuck and Izaac's mom.

Jenny: "Do you think that means they're having an affair?"

"I don't know..."

Jenny: "Why do so many people have affairs anyway? Not just Chuck but even guys who seem to be really serious do it too."

"Like who?"

Jenny thinks for a moment and then slowly says,

Jenny: "You can't tell anyone, okay? Nate kissed me at the ball."

"What? He kissed you?"

Jenny: "He thought I was Serena. You know, I had borrowed her jacket and all."

"Right."

(I guess that's what Nate was talking about when he said he did something very wrong. He mistook Jenny for Serena and ended up kissing Jenny instead. Poor guy, he's so busted.)

Jenny: "When he kissed me, he said 'Serena, I can't forget about you. I keep trying but I can't. I didn't know Nate and Serena had a history."

"Did you tell anyone else?"
