"Happy New Year!" I heard most people shouted.
Napabuga ako ng marahang hinga. What now? Magbabagong taon tapos wala akong kasama. My parents are busy taking care of our fashion event in Paris. Balak ko sana tumungo roon pero tuwing pasko at New Year doon din ang punta ko. Ngayon lang ata ako hindi sumama. It's just that I can handle myself now.
Hindi ko alam na ganito pala kalungkot kung wala kang kasama. I expect to enjoy myself alone but no, I don't find myself enjoying it.
"Happy New Year, babe! I love you so much!" rinig kong sabi noong babae sa boyfriend nang madaan ko sila.
Napairap ako at tumingala sa langit. Hindi pa naman hatinggabi pero madami na ang naghihintay ng fireworks. Kasalukuyan akong nasa park kung saan ito rin ang kadalasan kong tambayan 'pag abala si Elyjha.
Speaking of her, she's busy with something else or should I say with someone else kaya hindi ko madidistorbo. Same with Jayla, Jm and the twins. Ayaw ko naman makisali noh!
Noong Christmas ay sumama ako kay Jayla. But she's too busy to entertain me.
Pagkatapos ng ilang minutong pag-uusap ay agad naman siyang babalik sa kaniyang ginagawa.
"I'm really sorry, Marsee. I still have to pack some things for my LGBTQ family."
I smiled at her with full assurance. "Don't say sorry. Alam ko namang ganito palagi ang pasko mo. I'm just here to visit you. Wala rin akong mapupuntahan eh."
She's busy helping other LGBTQs. Tuwing Christmas kasi iyon ang kinagawian niya. Palaging mayroong party sa kaniyang bahay every pasko. It's grand and all prominent LGBTQ people were also there. Even famous celebrities and influencers attends her Christmas party.
I tried calling Jm and the twins earlier. However, they're not here in the Philippines.
"I'm not in the Philippines today, Marsee. I always spend my Christmas Vacation here in US. January 3 pa ang uwi ko riyan." Jm answered when I called and invited him to hop on a bar.
That's what he told me earlier. And for the twins...
"I can't come, Marsee. I'm currently in Sweden with my cousins. My twin Yvok is also in Hong Kong with our parents," ani Yvon nang tinawagan ko rin siya kanina.
Ano ba 'yan! Ang papangit nilang ka-bonding.
"Malapit nang mag alas-dose! Let's do countdown!" rinig kong hiyaw ng mga tao sa paligid.
I stopped for a while. Inayos ko ang sweater ko at niyakap ang sarili upang maibsan ang lamig. Pinagmasdan ko ang paligid. The whole park were filled with Christmas lights. Mayroong nakalatag na mga blankets. The picnic benches were all occupied. I saw children running freely, kasama nila ang mga pamilya nila. While some people is with their lovers.
