"hi there, buckaroo," rory smiled into her phone as owen's face popped onto the screen. as routine by now, owen cocked an eyebrow; "buckaroo?" "i'm not sure," rory shrugged, "think you should get a cowboy hat though." "i am not getting a cowboy hat," owen insisted, causing rory to pout. "fine. but only because you're giving me your disney plus." owen sent over the details, and soon enough the two were logged in and ready for a group watch.
"hamilton, right?" owen asked as he shuffled through the different shows. rory nodded, causing the boy to sigh; "don't you think it's kind of overplayed?" instantly, a gasp escaped rory's lips. "how can you ever say that hamilton is overplayed? it is a pure masterpiece!" "okay, okay!" owen responded as the brunette began to get defensive. rory still huffed unhappily, and owen simply pressed play on the musical to keep her satisfied (pun intended).
of course, over facetime, the pair sang along to every single song. rory had never felt as comfortable around anyone as she did around owen, and had no restraint when it came to belting her heart out, and the boy was the same. just over two weeks ago, when the pair had first conversed, owen had no intention to catch feelings, but looking at rory through his grainy phone screen as the clock neared two am, he wasn't sure he could help it.
