'And that concludes the match! East high leopards win 42- 20!'
The whole EHS crowd jumped, hooted and cheered, as the football players on the field gathered in a circle, hugging and punching fists in the air, celebrating. The excitement lingered in the air, even after the match, the excitement being for the upcoming homecoming dance taking place in the school gym in less than a few hours. The boys' hands turned clammy at the thought, as the girls formed small groups, discussing excitedly their special outfits for the best night of their lives.

Nini.
'Ahh, you look beautiful Ash! That shade of purple really makes your eyes pop.' Nini complimented with a warm smile, looking at the extremely excited red headed girl, who was twirling around in her elegant purple dress. 'Thanks Nini.' Ashlyn replied, with a wide grin on her face, as she sat down on Nini's bed, helping Gina with her makeup. Gina was practically squealing with excitement when they had gone shopping for their homecoming dresses. Paige and Lucy were in a deep conversation about something, but were aware of all the squealing and giggling going on in her room. Carol and Dana shook their heads in mock wistfullness, downstairs, knowing how the girls felt getting ready.

Nini was practically shaking in nervousness. She was being very restless, reaching out on her dresser for some powder, or her phone or water, and Kourtney was unable to curl her hair, with all the movement. 'Neeners, If you don't calm down right now, I won't be able to curl this right.' Kourtney stated sternly, looking at Nini. Nini was still nervously shaking, but smiled back, and bent her head down back at her phone, texting Ricky. Nini hadn't yet told them about being his.. you know, girlfriend yet.. Of course, she had told them everything about the date, but left out the most important part. She was thinking about how they would react when she told them.

The girls had come over to Nini's to help her get ready and get dressed themselves. Gina's mystery date would be knocking any time soon, Paige and Lucy were now helping Kourtney with Nini's makeup and dress.

Ricky.
Ricky stood in front of the full length mirror, struggling a bit to tie his bow. He groaned in frustration when it came out loose for the hundredth time. Mike came in, and kept a sunflower corsage on a nearby dresser. 'Early jitters?' 'A little.' 'Its okay, bud. You'll do great. Be a gentleman, Rick. And don't forget to give this to her.' He reminded gently. 'I won't, dad. Thanks.' Ricky replied immediately, with a polite smile. 'Bow ties are the worst.' Ricky remarked, his long fingers unable to keep a hold on the slippery bow tie. Mike chuckled and stepped forward, taking the tie from his hands and skillfully tied it perfectly. 'There you go.' 'Thanks dad. Are you sure you'll be okay here, alone?' 'It's fine, Rick. Go ahead. I'll be fine.' Ricky gave his dad a hug and slid the corsage into his pocket. He sprayed some Throb on him, since he knew it was her favourite, and ran his fingers through his neatly brushed curls, before going down.

As Ricky stood near the end of the flight of stairs, taking a deep breaths before heading out, his dad came down. 'Catch.' His dad said, tossing him his (Mike's) car keys. 'Really?' 'Yeah. Don't crash the wagon.' 'Really appreciate it, Dad.' 'Have fun.' 'I will.' Ricky smiled happily to himself, putting on his red vans and walked to his dads car. He unlocked it and sat down, running his fingers on the steering wheel, admiring the smooth leather and the interiors. This was way better than his orange Beetle. Before he started the engine, he sent Nini a quick text, that he would be there in 10. Technically, he would be there in two, but he wanted to get her something.

Nini.
'And done.' Kourtney remarked, admiring her master piece in front of her. She spun the chair a bit, and Nini faced the mirror. The girls looked at her in awe and gushed over how she looked,
'You look amazing, Neeners.'..
the way the dress hugged her body in the right places, the way her makeup was naturally subtle but breathtaking (Kourtney took all credit proudly). 'Ricky's jaw is gonna drop to the floor.' Nini smiled nervously, before looking at herself in the mirror. Her brown curls fell softly onto her shoulder and the light makeup on her face bringing out her pretty features.
