'When in doubt, choose change.'

When I get home, I crash on the sofa while Bumper puts something in the oven for us to eat and then he lets the puppies out, putting the dirty newspaper in the trash. I'm half asleep when he calls me to eat. I'm eating with my eyes half closed when I receive a message. Brad.

How's the zombie holding up?

The zombie is half asleep while eating and exhausted from running, thanks for asking. How's the live person doing?

Bumper stuffs his face with chicken nuggets and ham and cheese and says, ''I am so sleeping before doing anything else. I am never staying up till nearly four with you on a school night ever again.''

I laugh, finishing my food. I pile up the plates and empty cups of orange juice and take them into the kitchen, before crashing on the sofa again. Bumper joins me on the other sofa and sets an alarm, for an hour and a half from now.

''Sweet dreams, zombie princess.''

''Night night, death prince.'' I barely mutter before I'm asleep.

We wake up at the same time, both of us jerking forward, awoken with a jump.

''Damn alarm,'' Bumper groans, touching his phone and turning the thing off. I yawn and stretch, feeling quite a bit better than I did before. I push myself up from the couch and say, ''Lets get the homework done and then we're gonna walk the pups. Move that ass.''

Bumper chuckles and starts moving his hips on the sofa, moving his ass.

''Not that way, you idiot.'' I laugh and throw a cushion at him and check my phone.

I'm up for bringing you coffee everyday, don't worry. And hey, you're the fastest there, so congrats. The live person is good, walking the dog atm.

Thanks, that's greatly appreciated but there's no need, seriously, it's no big deal. I am, I feel powerful hahaha. B and I are gonna walk the pups after homework. Yay.

I grab our school bags from the hall and lay out the homework of the day on the table and slowly but surely, we both get through it. Nelson and Junior run in and out, chasing each other, barking at us and yapping at each other while play fighting. It's pretty cute, they're adorable.

''Okay so no more sleeping till late,'' I yawn, packing away my school books and leaving the bag by the front door but nowhere where anyone can trip over it.

''No way,'' Bumper agrees, shaking his head at me. ''Because we can't rely on Brad to bring us coffees every time we look dead on our feet.''

''He offered,'' I laugh at the dead on our feet thing. ''But no, I told him not to. Sort of. Even though, I do need coffee before school or else I don't think I'd survive.''

''That's because coffee chills you out but wakes you up and if you weren't chilled out, you'd break someone's neck off.''

''Someone I don't like.''

''Yes, and that's probably a quarter of the school.''

''No, I just don't talk to anyone and that's it.''

''You're a detached person.''

''I am,'' I nod this time agreeing with him. ''Consider yourself special.'' I tease him.

Bumper smiles, standing up and throwing his bag to the floor next to mine. Then, he walks behind me and puts his hands on my cheeks, planting a kiss on my head and hair before saying, ''Oh I do.''
