Chapter 22: First Dark Herrscher

Fu Hua was next to the boy. The boy was reading a book. She held a gaze on him. She began to wonder about how the boy became a Dark Herrscher in the first place. Why was the boy there on Kiana, Mei, and Bronya's mission? The boy closed his book.

"Ahhh. I'm done with that book. On to the next."

"Can we talk for a second?"

The boy looked at Fu Hua, curiously.

"Yeah?"

"I have questions for you."

The boy laughed. He turned in his bed and faced his former teacher.

"What type of questions?"

"Why were you watching, Kiana, Mei, Bronya mission?"

The boy smirked.

"I see where you are getting at."

Fu Hua just looked at him.

He let out a heavy sigh.

"I was under orders to test there strength."

"Orders from who?"

"Otto."

She was shocked.

"So Otto has full control of you?"

The boy laughed.

"Of course. He did create me."

Fu Hua sensed a dark power brewing.

"Where is the real Mars? He will never accept Otto like that?"

"He's here. You are talking to the Herrscher of Dread. The first Dark Herrscher."

Fu Hua clenched her fist.

"You are the same person. Why the personality change?"

"The Herrscher of Dread only answers questions that concern him."

"Okay. Let me ask this."

"Ask what?"

"Can you break Otto's control?"

The boy went silent.

"Do you?"

"I don't know how."

Fu Hua realized something.

"You haven't accept your power yet?"

The boy shook his head.

"You have to accept to break Otto's control."

"I'm scared to."

"Why?"

"I feel like Otto is having full control over me, if I do."

"Otto knows you haven't accepted it. That's why he is using you."

"Okay."

"Wait before you do. I answer my questions."

"Okay."

"Back to the first question. Why did he order you to do that?"

"I don't know. He didn't tell me."

"Okay next question. How did you become a Dark Herrscher?"

"I was killed in front of my sister's eyes. My sister wanted me back. She went to Otto because he's obsessed with dead people. He agreed to bring me back, but as a Dark Herrscher."

"I thought Dark Herrscher was a myth."

"It's not any more. I was the first."

"What?"
