Chapter 3- Special Visitors (also: What the hair?)

I looked out of the window and saw two figures on horses stopping by the tree.

"Varian, we have visitors..."

"Ugh, more people who think I'm a magician. Alright, Y/N, hide here.
It's going to be funny!"

"If you say so!"
I giggled as I hid under a table. Varian put on a suit and activated purple fog.
It looks like it's going to be an awesome prank...!!!

The two went into the room, but accidentally got caught in our flue trap. They coughed a bit.

"F-Fine! A boobie trap!"
One of them said. Her voice sounded familiar...

"Rap's, everything's going to be alright."
Said a serious voice.

Varian arrived from the fog.
"WHAT. DO. YOU. WANT."

I try to stop myself from laughing. This is GOLD.

"H-Hi, so, sorry to bother you, s-sir. I wanted to ask you about my hair because you are such a magic expert-"

"MAGIC?! I DO NOT WORK WITH MAGIC!"
The light turned on and Varian took off his mask.
"I mean, technically it's not magic, it's Alchemy, but yea, don't sweat it."

I rise from under the desk.

The girl laughed awkwardly.
"Okay, got it."

Oh my gosh- is that princess Rapunzel?!

"So, what's that thing...?"
Rapunzel pointed at the glue trap.

"Oh, hehe, it's a chemical compound of my design. So we have a little bit of pests around here, and with the miracle of modern alchemy, I've found a more humane way to get rid of them."
Varian said as he took of the costume and freed Ruddiger from his trap, taking him out of the room.

"This is enlightening but can you just get us out of here?"
The princesses' friend asked in a hurry.

"H-Ha, where is that neutralising chemical-"
Varian stared searching for it.

"I've got this!"
I exclaimed and freed the girls from our trap.

"I am so sorry, your highness."
Varian kneels and so did I.

"'Your highness?' You mean, you know who I am?"
Rapunzel asked.

Varian laughed.
"How could I not? Look at your hair!"

"Your highness."
Varian quickly added.

"Oh, please, just Rapunzel."
The princess gave permission for us to use her first name.
I nodded with a smile.

Varian started rambling a bit about him believing in science and hearing stories about Rapunzel.

"-Alchemy, we know. Now listen kids, we need your help. But let me make this clear- everything that happened here, stays here. Got it?"
The protective woman made sure we understand.

"Yes, we understand. It's our pleasure to help you. Right, Varian?"
I replied.

"Of course, Y/N. Could you prepare the magnifying glass?"

I nod and bring it. Rapunzel was lying on a long table as Varian examined her hair.

"Oh yes... it's... very...
LONG.
But don't worry, your highn- uh, Rapunzel, we, Varian and Y/N, can unlock the mystery of your hair with the power of science!"
Varian exclaimed and let the magnifying glass spin.

"Varian, be careful-"
I started.
"OOUCH!
N-No sweat, it's just a little bloo- ugh..."
Varian fainted as Rapunzel set back up, worried.

"I-I'll bring bandages."
I say in panic and go quickly, not wanting to waste royalty's time.
