A crowd surrounded Quirin as he came back from the field.

"What are we going to do, Quirin?
My home... these rocks are destroying everything in their path!"
One of the villagers pointed at the rocks that pierced one of his walls.

"Listen, everyone.
Our situation may seem terrible, but we mustn't lose hope."
Quirin announced.
He is a good leader.

"B-But what are they? Where are they coming from?"
Another person asked.

"Y/N and I've been studying these rocks, and I think we found a vulnerability in their alchemical makeup."
Varian scratched his chin.

"Son, Y/N, I told you- leave these rocks alone."
Quirin stepped over to us.

"Yea, I know-I know-we know, but something has to be done and I think we may be onto solutions!"
I answer.

"Something IS being done. In fact, I'm going to travel and see the king this afternoon about this very matter."
Quirin reassured us.

"O-oh, can I come with you?"
Varian asked.

Quirin sighed.
"Very well, then."

"Ooooooo yea! Varian and dad are going to see the kiiiiing!
Are you going too, Y/N?"
Varian asked me, still excited.

"Nah, I'll stay here."
I deny.

"Ok...
O-oh, I'll go pack ham sandwiches!"
Varian exclaimed.

"I'll help you!"
I start running after him.

Quirin chuckled, but then got back into his serious expression.
"In the meantime, stay away from those rocks."

"O-Ok, hehe, but...
That's getting harder to do by the minute..."
Varian said as both of us looked at the rock on the way back home.

I push Varian aside as I noticed that a rock next to him rose up a bit.

"I have made our good king aware of our problem, and he gave us his blessing!"
Quirin exclaimed and everyone cheered.

Varian was walking back to our house, a bit angry.
I followed him.

"Varian, wait! These are good news, aren't these?"
I ask in confusion.

"He lied, Y/N.
My dad lied to the king...
He lied to the villagers...
Is hope really worth it if you fill your life with lies?"
Varian said as we enter his lab.

We stepped to a rock that pierced the ground in the middle of the room.
Varian sighed as he touched it.

Ruddiger came from behind it, and surprisingly- Varian picked him up instead of shouing him away.

"Running from the problem won't fix it. These rocks MUST be stopped.
Ok, Y/N, Ruddiger.
What do we know about these rocks?"

"They are unbreakable, they're somehow connected to the princess, they are able to grow like a plant..."
I note.

"Even worse- they are growing in an extreme rate.
In a matter of months, they'll reach the castle."
Varian showed me a map.

"What do you suggest doing, Varian?"
I asked while petting Ruddiger.

Varian took a deep breath.
"Well, physical force has no effect on them, but they have yet to recon the awesome power of alchemy!"
Varian said as he activated a machine that created a liquid.

"Let's do this."
I say as Varian took a sample of the liquid and poured it onto the rock.

Suddenly, a flame appeared with a loud sound.
Varian gasped in surprise.
