Chapter 11- The scroll (also: Cassandra's revange)

"ANNNNNND THE RESULTS ARE IN!"
Varian exclaimed.

We were talking a break from decoding Demanitus's scroll, and instead betted on which chemical will create the best hot cocoa.

Ruddiger put a marshmallow in the measuring cup and Varian grabbed it.

"I swear I'm right."
I bet.

Varian let out an evil but cute laugh.
"We'll see if you are right, darling."
Varian flirted.

"J-Just shut up and drink, I want to see your face as you realise I was right."
I blushed.

He took a sip...
"Hi Varian and Y/N!"
Rapunzel suddenly entered the lab.
Varian immediately spat the hot cocoa on Ruddiger.

"DUDE. WHAT THE HELL."
I grabbed a napkin for Ruddiger.

"U-UH, AH! H-HI! Hi Rapunzel! H-Hey!"
Varian blurted out.

"I- we, uh, weren't expecting you, uh, coming...!"
He continued trying to piece sentences, embarrassed.
Lance and Eugene followed Rapunzel inside, together with max the horse.

"He m-means that w-we a-agreed to have at l-least five w-weeks of solitude t-to... ya'know, decipher t-this thing, a-and we w-would have s-some p-privacy and-"
I say awkwardly.
Darn, this IS embarrassing.

I don't think that they expected that THIS was what to alchemists are doing while trying to decode an ancient scroll written by their idol.

"Guys, don't be embarrassed!"
Rapunzel said with the most friendly voice ever.

SAYING THAT WON'T MAKE US LESS EMBARRASSED, PRINCESS
I almost said, but I was too busy being awkward.

"'Yo, kids, do you have anything chemical to help me look less old? Like any..."
Eugene passed by us, reaching a table.

"H-Hey, be careful with that!"
Varian ran after him and Lance.
Max followed along.

"So, uh, did you... want anything, Rapunzel?"
I try to get straight to the point.

"Oh thank goodness, you have the scroll."
Rapunzel sighed in relief.

"Uh, yea, you asked us to decipher it... we are almost finished, actually.
We composed this key to decode the scroll entirely."
I pointed at the wall behind me.
The scroll was hung on there, together with the key and other random scribbles on the wall.

"Guys, you are geniuses!
What does it say?"
Rapunzel asked, interested.

"Well, I could try using the key now but it'll take some time. But Varian, this dork remembers it by heart.
I'm still learning."
I tell the princess.
"Hey, V'! Come here! Rapunzel wants to read the scroll!"
Varian ran up to us.

"This is the healing incantation, this is the decay incantation, and this, ohhh, it's a THIRD incantation.
It will let whoever's possessing the moon stone to get complete control over the black rocks."
Varian pointed at the scroll.

"So that's why Cassandra wants the scroll..."
Rapunzel said to herself.

"She WHAT?!"
I ask in surprise.

"Wait, wait, but there's more! Y/N, tell her the last thing, I have to watch over the guys there."
Varian ran off shouting at the boys.

"There's a fourth incantation! It's written here that there's four incantations! Not three!
But we can't seem to find it anywhere on the scroll..."
I explained.

"Uh, guys, you might want to stop talking about the *cough* AHEM scroll *cough* AHEM!"
Lance pointed at the stairs.

Cassandra! Her hair is actually blue as we were told...
