Out with the tropical flavors, in with the autumn goodness!
As we enter the cold months, the refreshing sangrias and beachside cocktails move away to make way for frothy drinks that warm your tum-tum, and there is nothing more signaling of the season to come that the fabled pumpkin-spice latte, a signature drink of that mermaid place in every corner. But, let's face it, it's expensive, and you could probably make a more delicious version at home. And guess what? You can! Follow Creepy Uncle Sam's recipe for pumpkin spice latte to stick a middle finger to capitalism, and have something sweet to accompany it.
INGREDIENTS:
-2 Tablespoons Pumpkin Puree
-1 ½ Tablespoon Sugar(preferably brown) OR 2 Tablespoons of Maple Syrup.
-½ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
-¼ Teaspoon Powdered Ginger
-A pinch of Nutmeg, Cardamom, Allspice, and Clove.
-Freshly ground black pepper to taste.
-½ Cup Milk.
-¼ Cup of Coffee(Espresso, if possible)
INSTRUCTIONS:
-Add milk to a saucepan or small pot. Bring to a simmer.
-Once it begins to simmer, add everything but the coffee. Whisk until smooth and uniform.
-Add the coffee and whisk for a few seconds to integrate.
-Serve in a mug, with some whipped cream if you wanna be fancy.
