"Nelson, it's been 3 days!" Richard yelled

"Not everyone wakes up as fast!" Nelson snapped

"Don't fight over Meredith, will you?" Carolyn snapped

"I called Ellis.. I told her about the situation but she hasn't called me back yet

"Of course not" Carolyn muttered as she put moisturizer on her hands and massaged it into Meredith's dry hands

"We'll have to prepare ourselves" Richard whispered "I can't let her suffer forever"

"We got the whole tumor, you can't give up now! She is gonna wake up." Christopher said sternly

Carolyn grabbed Christopher's hand and nodded

All other doctors had left the room

"Meredith, you need to wake up. We wanna see you smile again, it will all be over soon" Christopher said as he brushed her cheek with his finger

On the other side of the room, Righard, Nelson and Arizona were talking

"I give her another 48 hours, I don't want her to be a vegetable" Richard said and Nelson nodded in response

...

"Come on, Meredith.. You got this" Richard whispered as he sat at Meredith's bed. 24 more hours have been passed and still no sign that Meredith was waking up

"How is she doing?" Carolyn asked as she entered the room

"Nothing changed" Richard sighed

"Hey, Meredith" Carolyn smiled and grabbed Meredith's hand

"I'm gonna go for a shower" Richard said and left Carolyn and Meredith alone for a while

"Meredith, you need to open your eyes for us. We all miss you and Amelia has been waiting to come see you. She asked me if I could tell you about the dollhouse she got from her older sisters, she wanted to show it to you" Carolyn started "We all love you, Meredith"

Carolyn felt a twinge in her hands "Meredith? Oh my!" She gasped and pushed the call button

"Page Dr Nelson, Dr Shepherd, Dr Robbins and Dr Webber, now!" She yelled as a nurse entered the room

"Take your time, Meredith. We'll be here when you're ready" Carolyn smiled as she looked down at the little girl who was laying in the big hospital bed

"Is she waking up?" Arizona ran in with a big smile

"She is" Carolyn smiled back

"That's great" Arizona said and quickly checked all Meredith's stats

"How is she?" Christopher ran in

"She's not breathing on her own but that will come" Arizona said and brushed her fingers over Meredith's cheek

...

After a few hours of waiting, Carolyn was still holding Meredith's hand

"Hey there" Carolyn smiled as she saw Meredith was trying to open her eyes. She quickly pages Meredith's doctors

"Hi, Meredith" Nelson said and started to examine her as her eyes stayed open

Once Nelson was done, Meredith started choking on the tube so Arizona extubated her

"Hey, Meredith. You had brain surgery, I know it hurts but can you say something?" Nelson asked

"A-my?" Meredith whispered

"Amy will come see you soon, sweetie" Carolyn smiled and kissed Meredith's bandaged head

Meredith smiled a bit before her eyes started to droop again

"Her speech will be a little slurred but speech therapy will definitely work with that, we also have to look to physical therapy so she can start working to be herself again" Nelson said

Carolyn smiled until they heard a knock on the door and saw someone they didn't expect..

"Ellis?" Richard gasped

"How long does she have?" Ellis asked

"She just woke up, she's doing perfect" Carolyn said with a stern expression

"She made it?" Ellis gasped

Richard nodded

"Scans showed no more mets, we could take everything away during surgery. She'll need 2 more rounds of chemo before she's in remission" Christopher said

"My little girl? She made it?" Ellis asked with a quiet voice

"She did, let's go to a quiet room so I can explain everything" Richard led her out

"I'm happy for Meredith but how dare she" Carolyn asked while shaking her head

"I'll never understand" Christopher said and grabbed his wife's hand

"I'm so happy she woke up" Carolyn laughed

"You should go home and tell the kids" Christopher said

"I wanna be here when she wakes up again." Carolyn said

"Of course" Christopher smiled
