"Very good, Meredith" Lara smiled as Meredith started dressing up by herself and even buttoning her own pants
"My hands work good again" She smiled
"They do!" Lara smiled "Ready to go see Amelia?"
"Yes!" Meredith smiled
"I texted Kathleen and Carolyn" Lara winked and helped Meredith to put on her jacket
"It's not cold outside" Meredith frowned
"I know, Mer but I don't want you to get sick" Lara explained as they heard the front door opening
"Why is she wearing her jacket?" Ellis asked as she walked towards the kitchen
"I was gonna take her to the playground down the street" Lara said
"Bring her back on time. I'm going back to the hospital. Can you stay the night or do I have to take her to daycare?" Ellis asked
"I can stay but I have school in the morning but I can drop her off at daycare" Lara said
"That would work" Ellis said and left the house again
Meredith just stood against the wall and wasn't even surprised
"Ready?" Lara smirked
"Yes!" Meredith smiled
Lara and Meredith walked out of the house, hand in hand as they slowly made their way to the playground
Meredith recognised Amelia standing there and asked Lara to hold her hand as she wanted to try running to the other girl
"Mer!" Amelia gasped and ran towards her friend
"Amy!" Meredith giggled and flew into Amelia's arms
"I missed you" Amelia said before grabbing Meredith's hand and pulling her towards her siblings
"She's looking very good" Carolyn said as Lara took a seat next to the older woman
"She does. Her energy is going back up again" Lara smiled "But her weight is still too low. Ellis barely makes any homemade food, usually they eat something at the hospital" Lara said
"I've seen her a lot at the hospital lately" Carolyn quietly said
"Yeah.. but it feels as if she's more protective of Meredith" Lara frowned "I think she really loves her daughter but just doesn't know how to show it"
"Lara, look!" Meredith ran towards the older girl and showed her a wristband Amelia had made for her
"That's amazing" Lara smiled
"Yeah" Meredith sighed as she took a seat on the bench next to Lara and rested her head on the armrest
"Hey, wanna lay with me for a bit?" Carolyn offered and got out a blanket
Meredith crawled closer to Carolyn and laid down between Lara and Carolyn, covered with a blanket

"I think we should head home now" Lara said as she scooped up Meredith and held her close against her chest
"Do you need a ride? We came with our car" Carolyn suggested
"Maybe it's better if I walk, just in case Dr Grey comes home" Lara quietly said
"Thank you for coming. The kids and i really enjoyed seeing you two again" Carolyn smiled softly
"We enjoyed it a lot" Lara said and woke Meredith up "Mer, we're going home now"
"No, I wanna play" She whispered
"I think you need to go to bed, you're exhausted" Lara chuckled
"I wanna stay" She groaned
"We can see them again soon" Lara promised "But now you really need to go to bed"
"Kay" Meredith whispered before finally opening her eyes and smiling at Carolyn and the kids
"Bye Mer" They smiled
"See you later dear" Carolyn brushed her hand over Meredith's cheek
"Bye" She muttered before her eyes closed again and Lara started walking back to Meredith's house. When they arrived, Lara quickly changed Meredith into some pajamas and laid her down in her bed before tucking the little girl in
"Yell if you need me, enjoy your nap sweetie" She said before heading back downstairs and started doing some of her homework
Lara ended up making dinner before waking up Meredith who was still asleep upstairs
"Hey, did you sleep well?" She asked as she saw the little girl's eyes opening
"Yeah" Meredith said as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes
"I made mac and cheese, wanna go downstairs to have dinner?" Lara suggested
"I'm not hungry" Meredith complained
"I know you aren't but remember what Dr Arizona told us?"
Meredith shrugged in response
"It's very important to get your weight up, it will help you getting better so you can go back to school"
"I wanna go to school" She smiled. Her mother made her change schools and she would now be in the same class as Amelia
"So you need to eat dinner, let's go" Lara chuckled
Meredith slowly stepped out of the bed and grabbed Lara's hand before she followed her downstairs
