"Meredith, clean your stuff!" Ellis yelled

A sleeping Meredith laid down on the couch as she got exhausted while playing with her anatomy Jane and some other dolls

"Meredith, when you stop playing, you first clean up your stuff before moving over to other things" Ellis said annoyed

"But I wanna keep playing" Meredith whispered as she woke up

"You were sleeping and that's okay but you need to clean your stuff first" Ellis said and Meredith nodded. She stood up and slowly walked over to put away her dolls upstairs as Ellis kept doing her paperwork

Meredith was halfway up the stairs as she felt exhaustion take over again so she decided to sit down and take a deep breath before continuing but the little girl's eyes started to droop and she fell asleep halfway up the stairs

"Meredith?" She recognised her mother's voice

"I-I'm sorry" Meredith apologized and pushed herself up her feet but she stumbled and fell. Luckily for her she didn't fall all the way down and just slipped a few steps down

"Are you okay?" Ellis ran up

"I'm okay" She rubbed her knee and walked upstairs to her room

She laid down on her bed and fell asleep again, only to be woken up a couple of hours later by Lara

"Hey sweetie, how are you doing?" Lara asked

"Kay" Meredith muttered

"Do you wanna get up? Alicia will be here in a bit for your PT" Lara said

Meredith slowly pushed herself up and Lara wrapped her arms around the little girl

"Let's go downstairs, there are waffles" Lara smiled

Meredith entered the kitchen. Her appetite was still small but she finally could taste the food again

Lara placed a plate in front of Meredith. The little girl smiled "Really? Chocolate chip?" Meredith giggled

"You like it?" Lara laughed

"You're the best!" Meredith smiled and started eating

After one waffle, Meredith stopped eating despite Lara trying to let her eat more

The doorbell rang and Lara jumped up "I think Alicia is here" She walked to the front door and opened it

"Hello, I'm here for Meredith's therapy" the beautiful young woman said

"Yeah, come in. We were expecting you" Lara said

"I wasn't aware that Meredith had a sister" Alicia smiled as she walked into the house

"Oh, I'm the babysitter" Lara giggled

"Where's Dr Grey?"

"Oh, she got paged" Lara replied "But I'll be the one who takes care of Meredith during her recovery, it's summer vacation anyways" Lara told her

"Okay, then we should get started" Alicia smiled and started explaining everything during the session. Halfway it became clear that Meredith's body was still recovering as she needed a minute for herself

"Do you want some apple juice?" Lara asked Meredith who immediately nodded

After Lara got Meredith's juice, she cuddled a bit more with Meredith before she had to continue her physical therapy again

"You are doing very good" Alicia commented as Meredith did the things she had to do

"I'm tired" Meredith quietly said after a while

"Can you go on a little longer?" Alicia asked

Meredith nodded and slowly continued

It quickly became clear that Meredith was in no state to continue these exercises so Alicia ended this session "Okay, Meredith. You did very good today" Alicia smiled

"I did?" Meredith asked, completely out of breath as her body drooped after some fine motor skill tests

"You did! What do you think about some ice cream?" Lara asked

Meredith shook her head

"Maybe first a nap and then we'll see?" Lara suggested instead

"Kay" Meredith smiled

"Meredith, I'll see you back on friday?" Alicia said

"But when can I go to school?" Meredith frowned

"Oh, Meredith.. Didn't your mommy tell you?" Alicia frowned as she lowered herself to the level of Meredith

"No" Meredith shook her head

"Your immune system is very weak because of the chemo so you have to get a bit stronger first" Alicia said

"But I am bored.." Meredith sighed and rubbed her head

"I know and I'm sorry but Lara is here now" Alicia tried to cheer up Meredith

"I wanna see Amy" Meredith frowned as she started to lay down on the couch

"We'll figure something out sweetie" Lara tried to please Meredith

"Kay" Meredith whispered as her eyes closed

"She's exhausted" Alicia whispered "She's a fighter, she's doing very well"

"I'm very proud of her" Lara smiled

"You should be" Alicia said before she stepped out of the house

Lara returned to the living room where Meredith was sleeping and decided she would make some fresh lemonade for them
