Moving Away

I could never leave Outer Banks. It was going to be hard but it was the best thing for me and my family. A lot had been going on here in Outer Banks, multiple deaths, murders and the worst of all my boyfriend was the towns murderer. Everybody knew about it and stayed away from him. I was kept locked in my bedroom not being able to see him or my friends. I could only FaceTime then but it wasn't the same.

When my parents next went to work, Rafe snuck round and climbed the tree and through my window into my room. We chilled for a couple hours. It was mainly made up of two hours of me crying about not being able to see him again and him comforting me and another hour of us sleeping. My parents soon came back and I had to shout "I'm getting dressed hold on!" So they wouldn't barge through the door while he was struggling to climb down. He didn't make it look very easy at all.

There were only two weeks left until we were moving. We were moving so far away, to New York. My parents were writers for the newspaper and wanted something better to report. Not just murders, gold and more deaths every week. They wanted something more thrilling like something they would find in the big city. I begged them to let me stay, but they wouldn't let me and said "my daughter staying here alone?! Whatever will people think?!" So that was a definite NO from them. Life sucked. My parents never let me do anything and didn't even try and get to know Rafe before calling him a murderer. He did it for a reason.

The reason being to protect his father. Like I would, or would've done once before. They didn't treat me the way they should. They would leave me in my bedroom for hours until they came home and wouldn't even let JJ or Kiara come around to accompany me. I wasn't allowed outside unless it was to go swimming in the back garden pool. The house was so boring when I was alone with nothing to do. Yeah, I know I had the movie room, the pool and the pantry to raid but it wasn't the same without my friends with me to enjoy those things.

My parents were finally home and I was made to pack a suitcase. I needed all my clothes and anything personal I wanted to take. I took the ring Rafe got for me to match his, and put it into my little travel jewellery box. I grabbed the brackets I made one summer with the Pogues and put them into the same box. The box was filled with necklaces, bracelets, anklets, earrings and other little rings. Now time for my endless amount of clothes. I was given the biggest suitcase as we all knew I packed the most. I threw in a couple pairs of shorts, crop tops, a few dresses that I folded nearly to make sure there were no dresses and some jeans and leggings. I packed my nike air forces, a few sandals, heels and some boots. And I was pretty much sorted. I spent about an hour packing before my mother got the cleaner to repack it all.

I was able to say one last goodbye to the Pogues before leaving for the airport. There were a lot of tears. I was also able to see Rafe one last time. This was the most emotional I had been. He grabbed my hand and places something in it before calling my fingers around it and walking back inside. I knew he was upset and didn't want me to see that. I waved to Wheezie and Sarah who were upstairs and I stepped back into the car. I laid back staring out the window as we drove away. As we got to the airport, we passed the tarmac where the Cameron's plane was when Sheriff Peterkin was shot. I winced at the thought of it and could just see her face as I stare outside the window.

We were having to travel an hour to get to the new airport in Charleston. It was a new modern airport, built about a year or two ago. I'd never been to it before.

We arrived at the airport. I grabbed my handbag and my suitcase from the boot and followed my parents through the doors. Maria, the cleaner, was coming with us as my parents couldn't deal without someone to clean for them. We luckily had a condo in New York that we normally rented out, so we had somewhere to stay at least. Maria had been to this condo many times before so this trip was normal for her. My parents were also very chill when we were getting our tickets, first class of course, only the best for my parents. Sigh.

My parents did however feel bad for me in a way and allowed me to go on a shopping spree in the airport. They had deleted the Pogues and Rafes number from my phone so the first thing I did was run to the nearest phone stand in the airport. Rafe answered first, excited to hear my voice again. I explained where I was going and how I was going to try and get away from them, I informed him on how the Pogues were going to be in on the plan. Next, we're the Pogues to ring, Kiara answered after a while and I informed her and told her to tell the others.

I then decided to do some shopping. First Victoria's Secret, I needed some new perfumes and some bra sets. I went into WHSmith to grab some books for the plane. I luckily had a few hours until the flight so we all chilled and shopped until it was time to board.

New York was honestly amazing! The huge crowds of people made me nervous but after a while of walking around the city it was fine. I think could get used to this. There were so many amazingly dressed people surrounding me. As we got to the door or the apartments complex, we were greeted with a tall man stood at the door. "Welcome to New York City y/n!" I took a step back shocked at who this random guy knew my name. "Honey this is Bruce, our chauffeur." "Come along, Mr and Mrs y/l/n and of course Miss y/n." We followed him towards the lift. Maria struggling with the bags behind us. Bruce grabs the bags slowly from her taking the weight off her shoulders. She smiles at gets into the lift next to me. Do I sense a connection? Just kidding, or am I?

We got to the top floor after about 15 minutes as we were very high up in the building. We stood in front of the huge glass doors, waiting for Bruce to unlock them. I stepped inside and was taken aback by the huge glass windows, the huge open kitchen and living room. It was amazing! I ran further inside dropping my bags onto the floor. I ran to where I knew the bedrooms were and instantly knew which one mine was.

The sun shone in and lit up the whole room

The sun shone in and lit up the whole room. The modern look of it, the huge windows and the cute little desk set up in corner of the room I loved so much. It was better than the cute room I had at home in Outer Banks. I still missed that house and still hoped we would go back one day as I missed my friends truly but for this moment in time I loved this new place to call home.

A/N: I start my mocks tomorrow and I'm very nervous. I haven't really posted in a while sorry :)
I most likely won't be posting as much as I'll be trying to revise but I will try. I also have a lot of things happening this week well this year in general lmao

But let's hope I don't fail my mocks 🤞🏻
