The long awaited part two

It has been a few months since the party where it all kicked off. Rafe still hadn't been to school in a while and I was getting worried. My friends had started to get worried about me as well. I stayed in my room for a while just crying, sitting in bed all day in the dark with my door locked at all times.

My parents gave up trying to get anything out of me after a while and left me too it. Kiara and JJ had stopped speaking to me and I felt like I didn't have anyone anymore. Of course, I had Sarah, Pope, John B and Topper but I just needed my best friend. The only friend I have had since I was 5 years old when I met the little, blonde boy running on the beach being chased by a young, blonde woman laughing. It was his mother. She was really beautiful and I know he missed her so much like I missed him. I first spoke to him when he ran over to me and took a seat on the sand next to me and my little sandcastle.

"Hey, can I help you with your sandcastle?" He asks.
"Hello! Yes, of course you can! I'm y/n. What's your name?"
"I'm John J." He says. "Nice to meet you. I'll go get you some seashells." He jumps up, grabbing the bucket from the floor and running to the sea.
I smile at the boy running away.

And ever since then we had been best friends. We made up nicknames for each other, he was JJ and I was seashell. The nicknames had sort of just stuck as we grew up. We had so many memories together, good and bad ones. Many arguments that were resolved over ice cream. I had been there for him when his mum first left him with his dad. I saw how badly his dad treated him and it upset me. I told my parents as much as I could hoping they would do something, but all they did was give him another room at my house which he appreciated a lot. We had many sleepovers, which he would sneak into my room and sleep on the floor instead of the bed in his new room, just wanting my company. He felt safe with me and I felt safe with him.

Our friendship began to slow down once I met Rafe. He knew there was something off about him but he saw how happy he made me.

I walked through the school doors, everyone staring at me. What was happening? I looked down at the floor continuing to listen to my music. I skipped the song and his song came on. 'Daddy Issues' - The Neighbourhood. A tear rolled down my cheek. I quickly wiped it away with my sleeve and walked over to my locker. I unlocked my locker and grabbed my books from the shelf. I went to close it when an arm brushed past my shoulder. I turned to see who it was. Brody Smith. He leant against the locker next to me smiling.

"Hello?" I questioned.
"Y/n right? I'm Brody." He says holding his hand out.
"Yes it's y/n and I'm aware your Brody. Everyone knows who you are." I say rolling my eyes and closing my locker and starting to walk around.
"Hey! Wait up. I just wanted to talk." He says chasing after me and placing his hand on my shoulder. I shrug it off and turn back around to face him standing in the middle of the corridor.

"I heard about you and Rafe."
"Yeah, who hasn't." I say rolling my eyes again.
"No need to roll your eyes. I just wanted to say I'm sorry. He was a bit of a dick, don't you think?"
"Umm... I have nothing to say about him. I don't really want to talk about it right now, sorry." I say quickly.
"Don't you think you need a rebound? Someone.. better possibly?" He questions.
"I'm not looking for anything right now I'm sorry. I don't want a rebound, I want to be left alone Brody." I say beginning to get annoyed.
"Just one date."
"No. I don't want anything right now."
"You don't even have to talk to me. Just let me take you out."
"I said no! Do you not listen? No! I do not want to go on a date with you, leave me alone!" I shout. Everyone's attention turns onto us standing in the middle of the corridor. Peoples eyes suddenly turn to face someone walking through the doors. I then and look and see Rafe. He storms up to us and punches Brody in the face.
