Rings

"Hey Rafe." I say smiling at him.
"What do you want?" He says turning around to look at me.
"Just wanted to say hi. No need to be rude."
"Oh, sorry I thought you were Sarah."
"Glad I'm not Sarah then. However, I don't know where she is."
"With Topper maybe?" He says confused.
"No clue. She told me to come over yet isn't here. So there was no point me coming here."
"Did she disrupt your sleep?" He laughs.
"She did actually. That's not funny. I'm really tired."
I look down towards the motorbike in front of Rafe.
"Cool bike. Since when have you had a motorbike?"
"Since yesterday."
"I thought you hadn't passed your test?" I say smirking.
"My dad doesn't know that though. He thinks I passed straight away however thought I'd buy a bike for when I do." He turns away from me and back towards the bike to continue doing whatever he was doing before.
"You having to fix it already? Have you already broken it?" I laugh.
"No just some little changes on the wheels and stuff."
I stand there and watch him repair his bike for a while.

"I really like your rings Rafe. I like the snake one, it suits your personality."
He looks up from his bike and laughs sarcastically before looking back down again.
"Y/n!" Someone shouts. I turn around to see Sarah running towards me.
"So now you show up!" I say laughing. "Bye Rafe!" I walk off towards her.
"Why were you talking to my brother?"
"Because you weren't here? Interrupted my sleep Sarah."
She laughs. "Sorry."

We hang out for a while before going up to her bedroom. I follow her upstairs and collapse onto the bed.
"I love your room so much. The bed is like a cloud."
"Topper's bed is much nicer. I've asked Rose if I can get a new mattress."
"A new one? I thought this was your new one?"
"It is."
"Oh right." I say laughing. "And you wonder why Rafe says your the favourite."
"Shut up." She says throwing a pillow at me. This then turns into a pillow fight. Pillows all over the floor and blankets piled up in a corner. One pillow goes flying across the room, hitting Wheezie in the face as she walks through the door.
"Omg Wheezie! I'm so sorry!" Sarah apologises rushing over to her.
"I'm fine. Didn't hurt. Upset you didn't invite me to join in. Anyway, I was told to give y/n this."
She walks over to me and hands me a little box.
"Thanks Wheez. Who's it from?"
"Rafe just told me to give it to you so I don't know what it is or why he's given you something." She says shrugging. "I'm going back to watch my show bye."
"Bye!" Me and Sarah both say at the same time making us laugh.
"Open it then!" She squeals.
"Ok, ok calm down." I say opening the little box slowly. I pick up the tissue paper and move it out the way. Inside the box is a smaller, ring gift box. I pick it up and look closer at it. The navy blue leather was gorgeous. I open it and see a familiar gold ring with a snake on it.
"A snake ring?" Sarah asks confused. I laugh and look back at the ring in awe.
I take it out the box and look at it. I look on the inside of the ring and realise my name is engraved onto it. The little snake is identical to Rafe's but the ring being thinner. I smile at it then place it on my finger.
"Than should be on your wedding finger." Sarah laughs.
"He hasn't proposed." I say laughing.
"Why a snake ring?" She asks.
"Because he has a matching one."
"Aw cute. Matching rings. You two are the cutest."

Rafe finally walks into the room and smiles at me sitting on Sarah's bed.
"Like the ring?"
"Yeah of course. It's cute."
"It's not meant to be cute, it's a snake." He laughs.
"You know what I mean." I say getting up and walking over to him. He wraps his arms my waist and kissed my forehead.
"Guys can you not in my bedroom."
"You were telling me about Topper's bed earlier. That's much worse."
"She was what?" Rafe says changing his emotion entirely.
"Calm down. Overprotective brother jeez. Thought you hated her?" I say laughing.
He unwraps his arms from around my body and grabs my hand.
"Ok bye Sarah." He says walking off pulling me away.
"Bye Sarah!" I shout from down the hallway.

Once in his room, he closes the door and I sit on the bed.
"Did you look at the inside of the ring." He asks.
"Yeah with my name engraved. That's so cute."
"Did you see what else is engraved onto it?"
"No?" I ask confused. He takes the ring off my finger and searches for the engraving. "There." He points at it and I see what I missed. It says: Y/n - Rafe's Property'
"Omg." I say embarrassed.
"What?" He laughs. He places the ring back on my finger. "It's true. Thought I'd allow you to show other people that your mine with the matching ring and the engraving saying your mine."
"Yours forever."
"Do you know why I got you a snake ring?" He asks me.
"Nope? There's a meaning to it?"
"Gold snake rings represent eternal love and in general they represent renewal, growth and fertility. It's also believed that wearing snake jewellery would cure people from sickness. So now you won't ever be sick for long."
"Fertility?" I laugh.
"Behave. That's what google said when I searched it. I mainly got it because of the meaning eternal love and curing people from sickness." He laughs.
"So I really am yours forever now then. Eternal love. No getting away from me now."
"Aw lost my chance of escaping." Rafe jokes.
"You love me really." I say.
"Of course i do. Or I wouldn't have got a ring that represents my love to you forever."
"Your so cute."

Thought the rings were cute I love the thought of matching rings I also love snakes so
