Author's POV:

"Y/N, can you pass me the bowl of yoghurt, please?" You heard grandma speak and quickly took the bowl of yoghurt on the table, handing it to her. She was making some sort of curry in the kitchen. You watched her pour in the yoghurt on top of the beef as she mixed them. The smell was so good.
"It smells great!" You complimented. She chuckled and said, "Grandma Violet's cooking is good as always!"
"How do you manage to be so young, Grandma?"
You asked, wondering deeply. She smiled and said, "I'm nearly 70... but I still have good strength. You know, the air of Daegu is to thank!"
You couldn't help but smile a little at her words.

You saw Isabel helping your aunt cut some vegetables while your mother was peeling fruits. You saw Taehyung's figure walking inside the bathroom in a swift motion. Wow, those long legs must stride faster than anyone else. You couldn't help but notice how much he had changed.

The boyish look was almost gone, he looked manly now. He had broad shoulders, and sculpted cheekbones, his eyes had become bigger than before and his thick dark brows complemented his face. He was going to hit 6" feet soon. And you were surprised. You were nearly 5"6 but he? God...puberty hit him harder than a truck.

You saw him getting out of the washroom as the electrician was home, fixing some light switches. Taehyung approached your mom and sat down, was he going to help her? He was a humble kind, though very obnoxious from what you remember. But he didn't have that teasing glance or the hint of mischief in his eyes like he did before.
Your mom forwarded her hand towards him but before you could continue your gawking, you heard Grandma Violet, "Earth to Y/N?"
"Oh, sorry!"
You immediately jolted up causing her to break out in a chuckle.
"Well, you've been staring outside for the past 5 minutes. Do you want to go and talk to Taehyung? You both haven't met in a decade." she said.

"Uh... not really. I'd rather just help." Lies. You wanted to go outside and talk to this guy. You wanted to. But you didn't know what to say. Your heart was itching ever since the moment you saw him but no, it wasn't enough to make you go and talk to him, it was going to be ridiculous.
"Well, okay then." She said but her voice sounded unsure. Soon, some time passed by and the cooking was almost done. Grandma Violet was done cooking her beef curry and was resting beside your mom. You learnt that Taehyung had been helping your mom with peeling the fruits. The guy is still nice to others like before... but you? God knew if he changed or not.

As much as you awaited seeing him, a part of you doubted he'd be nice to you at all. You both were frenemies in childhood, pranksters. And it was normal that your encounter wouldn't be as bad as before but it was also unsure.

You were standing in the backyard of their house, staring at the beautiful sky painted with clouds. You were engrossed in your thoughts when you heard a deep voice, "Hey."
You could've sworn the depth of his voice gave you goosebumps. You immediately turned around to see Taehyung walking toward you, his hands in his pocket. Wait a minute—you noticed his face properly. He looked at you, looking normal.
"Oh... hi." You said, feeling the awkward air. He had become so much more handsome and it made you feel some kind of way—you weren't sure what but it did.

"How are you?" He asked.
"Yeah... umm... good." You fiddled with your fingers, looking away. He took two steps toward you, tilting his head, getting a better look at your face as you backed your head away, frowning a little at him. You saw his lips forming a huge grin. He seemed so happy as if he was containing his happiness all this while.
"You?" You asked, trying to strike a normal conversation. His grin seemed to be in place.
"Kinda sad seeing no height improvement in you... you still look like a kid, smiley."
