Nothing much to report this month, since we had a trickier time than expected. Mostly, just saving these notes for the 'record' and for those who didn't catch them already.
So, I'll just copy the latest Notification from a couple of weeks ago and the Author's Note that goes with this only real progress (on Otherborn: Granite High) besides a lot of behind the scenes details.
And of course (All my fault, as I can't write short books to save my life!) racing to finish the first Otherborn book so we can begin the second, Otherborn: In the Wastelands Alone on Wattpad.
Otherborn: Earth's Crust Survival

WACKY EXPERIMENT! We're shocking ourselves, 'cuz it grew on it's own. A spring ago now, we thought to start a new genre profile (Knights of Dystopia) and co-write a short story together in summer (Yandel Sinclair /aka Gideon Easton and I)...
Then Amazon launched a new project called Kindle Vella and we thought, 'Okay, we'll just throw up a chapter or two and update sometimes for our friends who might like to see us do that!'
WELL... that's not how this went.
We DID do that, but threw up six episodes, then a few more and a few more... t
Then Yandel went back to school in the fall. Neither of us looked any more. We planned to continue this summer.
BUT... At Easter, while closing some tabs, I noticed our cover (and thanks to our artist) was in the Vella header itself! Soooo... (and not having a lick more time, as truly we don't—cuz which of us does? And no kind of a clue about what we were doing...) we jumped back in again, and after our really long absence... been writing like mad, at least for this summer for now. And so here's what we've got!

The Author's Note you'll find in the newest "Otherborn: Granite High" ADDITIONAL (Yes, I said that, and 1 of SIX) genre Character Intros (a mad-cap bunch of prequels to our upcoming "Otherborn: In the Wastelands Alone" on Wattpad AND our main original (short—bahahaha) story on Vella, called, "Otherborn: Earth's Crust Survival" {ongoing}), will fill you in on how crazy this got.
A big leap forward with all of this! So here I'm not 'gone', just found more atm on KOD! Rolling things out 'slowly' I hope! What have we done?! :)

Otherborn: Granite High is one of six Character Intros (we maybe / might do) for the Otherborn series. We're contemplating each from a different genre entirely.
Fox = Sci-Fi;
Kai = Mystery;
Custer = humor / romance;
Grit = Action Adventure/ Thriller;
& this one ...
Tabitha's background in Action and pure Teen Drama. Lol
(And we'll wait to see who the sixth one might be, so we welcome your input. ;))
Tabitha's Intro is intended to be just a three or four episode sneak peak into what 'might' be coming (or red herrings?) for our summer 2022 project on Wattpad, "Otherborn: In the Wastelands Alone".
** ;) & we maybe / might also not write any of them―unless you think they seem fun, but taken together, the cast intro is our way of letting friends on Wattpad catch up separately from the main series thread (on Kindle Vella {or in beta, if this genre sweep's your style}).
Regardless of where you jump in... Each character is... well, a real character, eh?... and their Intros should stand alone (with cliffhangers―be warned).
The six cast journeys segway straight into "Wastelands" AND into our main story, "Otherborn: Earth's Crust Survival", AS WELL AS hopefully provide a little fun reading of them afterwards too.
There will certainly be some things you don't know about our cast's motivations.
