Asthma

It was night time now and I was doing my best to ignore Cora. Everyone was around the nighttime campfire. I was about to go get Miguel when a scene made me pause and hid behind a tree. The more I walked on my ankle the more I could deal with the pain from twisting it early that day. Everyone besides Miguel and Cora were at the campfire. Miguel looked like he was going to leave when Cora said something that got his attention. "it's funny how Bel's gone from being controlled to being the one who controls." Miguel looks at her confused before sitting down again.

"What do you mean?" Miguel asks.

"Well her parents were so controlling and she hated it and now she's the leader of this group." Cora explains.

"Well Bellas changed a lot." Miguel said.

"It seems like it." Cora sighs with a sad look over her face.

"What even happened between you too?" Miguel asks. Knowing if he asks me I wouldn't tell him.

"I was stupid. Bella didn't know how to defend herself and I told her things I regret to this day." Miguel nods.

"She's pretty badass now." Miguel says fondly. I found myself unable to bite back a smile from his comment.

"Yeah I bet she is." Cora sighs again. "When Bella stopped going to school I was relieved I guess you could say because deep down I knew she was right about that piece of shit boyfriend I had but because I like having the attention I didn't believe my best friend." Core shook her head. "I was an idiotic bitch." With that i shook my head and headed back into my tent to go to sleep. While I was making my way back to my tent I started thinking. I miss Cora. She was one of the people I missed the most besides my little sister Hope from my old life.

Cora was my best friend. I would sneak out of the house to meet up with her in the middle of the night. I would wake up at the crack of dawn just to go to school and see her. She was the person keeping me sane. Then she met her boyfriend. I knew from the start he was bad news. He had a knack for cheating on his girlfriends. He was also known as the school player. I warned Cora but she didn't listen to me. After she got together with him she stopped spending time with me. When she did talk or hang out with me all we were doing was talking about her awesome new boyfriend.

I never had a boyfriend before since my parents wouldn't let me so i didn't understand the thrill of it. So when I caught him cheating on Cora I told her. She didn't believe me. We started fighting. We grew apart and stopped hanging out and talking all together. Since i didn't have the person to keep me sane anymore I couldn't take being in that horrid house so after a little while I pulled the stunt of running away.

The next morning I woke up to the sound of someone screaming. I jumped up, waking Miguel in the process, thinking camp was getting infuriated by the Undead. I grabbed the knife I keep under my pillow and ran out of the tent with Miguel in tow. As I was running I realized my ankle doesn't hurt anymore. I guess a good night's sleep helped. I found Danielle and Cora crouched on the ground around Lilley. I crouched in between them trying to figure out what's going on. "What happened?"

"She's having an asthma attack." Danielle informed.

"How do we help her?" I ask.

"She needs oxygen." Danielle told me as she puffed two puffs of Lilleys inhalers in Lilley's mouth.

"Where can we find oxygen?" I raised an eyebrow skeptically.

"Go into town, last time I was there I found a hospital." I nod and quickly get up from my crouched position and run to get my weapons. I grabbed my katana, my pistol and I holstered my knife and went to Miguel.
