Meet Again

Chapter 3

Logan and Rory went out to dinner and had both had a nice time. Logan insisted on walking Rory to her door afterwards, because it was late and dark out.

"This is me" Rory said and gestured to the door

"Yeah, I uh... I know"

They stood there awkwardly for a moment

"I had a really nice time" Rory said, trying to lighten the mood a little

"Oh, yeah. Me too"

"Good"

"Yeah..." Logan took a small step closer to Rory. When she didn't move away he put his hand on her arm, just above her elbow. Rory glanced down at Logan's hand on her arm, and then back up at him. She knew what was about to happen, and while unsure whether it was a good idea, she decided to just let it happen. Logan slowly leaned forward and just as his lips were about meet Rory's, the door opened. Rory and Logan startled and Rory took a step away from Logan

"Oh, sorry" Alice said "I didn't know you guys were out here"

"That's ok" Rory said "I um...I was just coming inside. Logan, I'll see you around?"

"Definitely"

Once they were inside Alice started questioning Rory

"Are you done?" Rory asked, annoyed by Alice's questions

"No" Alice said "what happened? I need details"

"We went to a restaurant, ate, talked, walked around the city for a while, and here we are"

"That can't be it"

"That's it"

"Come on" Alice whined

"What do you want me to say?"

"I wanna know what happened"

"I already told you"

"That's it?"

"Yes"

After that night Rory didn't get another chance to see Logan before leaving California to head to their next stop, but she knew that Logan was also headed there so she would try and talk to him there. She was also excited because they were headed to New York City, which meant that she would get to see her mother.

Once Rory got to her hotel room in nyc and had called Lorelai, she decided that she probably needed to talk to Logan. Just as she picked up her cell phone to call him, she got a text.

L: Meet me outside the New York public library, in an hour?

It was already late but Rory decided to go anyway

R: 👍🏻

Logan was standing outside the library when Rory walked over to him

"Hey"

"You came" Logan said, sounding a little surprised

"I told you I would, didn't I?"

"Yeah, but- never mind"

"Ok..."

Neither of them said anything for a moment

"Look..." Logan started "I uh... wow, this is harder than I thought it'd be. Um...I made a mistake. When you said that you weren't ready to get married I should've accepted that. I regret walking away and I definitely still have feelings for you"

Rory thought for a moment before speaking "Why the ultimatum?"

"I was being...stubborn" Logan sighed "I guess I just...I was being stupid, and selfish, and I wasn't looking at it from your perspective"
