Rory and Lorelai were sitting in the living room, Nicky was playing on the rug.
"Ok. Ok. Ok" Lorelai said "what about the one time that I almost walked in on you guys-"
"Absolutely not!" Rory said, not letting Lorelai finish her sentence
"Oh, come on!" Lorelai whined "it was funny"
"It was mortifying and it's not an appropriate topic with my son in the room" Rory said "besides, we weren't actually doing anything-"
"Yet" Lorelai interjected with a chuckled
"And it was your fault"
"It was not!" Lorelai gasped
"You came over unannounced"
"You gave me a key"
"That was for emergencies" Rory said "and once again, this is not an appropriate conversation to have in front of my 4 year old"
Just then, Logan got home. He walked into the living room and leaned down to kiss Rory "hi"
"Hi"
"Hi daddy" Nicky said as Logan kissed the top of his head
"So you'll kiss in front of him but you won't talk about kissing in front of him?" Lorelai raised an eyebrow
"Mom" Rory chuckled "a quick hello kiss is not what you're talking about"
"What are we talking about?" Logan asked
Lorelai giggled
"What?" Logan looked at Rory
Rory put her hand on Logan's arm "Remember that time, a few months after we got married, my mom happened to be in the city and decided to surprise us?"
"Yeah...we don't need to talk about that" Logan shook his head
"Oh please" Lorelai scoffed "you have two kids. It's not like I don't know how you got them"
"We only got one of them that way" Rory reminded her
"What way?" Nicky asked
"Sorry" Lorelai mouthed
"What Nicky?" Logan asked
"What way?" Nicky repeated
"What way for what?"
"What um..." Nicky thought for a second "I forgot" He giggled
"That's ok"

"Do you wanna go or do you want me to?" Logan asked
"Is it selfish of me to want you to go?" Rory asked
"No" Logan said "especially not since it means you taking care of both kids, by yourself"
"I'd rather take care of them alone, than go to London for a week"
"Alright, so I'm gonna go on Monday and hopefully be done there before the weekend"
"Nicky might be upset that you're going" Rory said
"Yeah..." Logan sighed
"We'll deal with it. It'll be fine"
A few days later Logan left to handle something in the London office and Rory was left alone with Grace and Nicky.
"What do you want for dinner?" Rory asked
"Mac and cheese!" Nicky said, excitedly
"With carrots?"
