NGE: vault of the fallen

CHAPTER 1

Shinji didn't know what to think when he released the human race back into the world he thought that would be the end of it and he'd finally be done

Instead he was given this vault of technologies many would dream of, scientists mouths would water, and warmongers would be jumping up and down in joy and by gods kore powerful then the angels who called themselves sovereigns, shinji however wanted to scream for, one reason WHY WAS THERE TWO UNIT-01s in this vault, in fact their was two or more of literally everything within the vault

To make matters worse he couldn't just hand the vault to someone else and make it their problem, why because he was sent to another dimension WITHOUT the rest of the organization he was apart of, he would even be okay to give this stuff to his father just anyone familiar but nope that was quite simply ripped out of his hands

HIS unit-01 still functioned so he could make the best out of this situation, he would continue to do what he had been doing, he'd fight these creatures called klaxosaurs, until he could find a way home, wherein this would become misato's problem, he didn't even know how to use anything in this vault, except the EVAs

So fight he did, he learned that unit-01 hadn't changed....... at all, it still only responded to him, and wouldn't activate for anyone else, doctor werner franxx, tried to take it apart and study it, that just managed to pass the EVA off stupendously, he had one companion, a woman named kiriko hattori, she treated shinji like a king however, calling him her lord, and essentially bending over backwards to please him in any way, not something he'd ask for

Because of his units unique savagery he would become the teammate of code 002, whom he named sakuya, since her code reminded him way too much of rei, for his liking, kiriko remained in the vault only seen when ordered to give her lord aid, so APE had no knowledge of her

It amused him to watch as sakuya latched onto code 016, who had named himself hiro, who was the opposite of shinji in every way, eventually shinji began to realize he would not get very close to these people simply because of how he was, he had learned many hard lessons and so was very quiet barely saying a word

so eventually squad thirteen noticed the disappearance of their teammate and his unit

what made matters worse was that squads began to disappear from the plantations starting with the nines, they went first, which was really scary and parasites soon started to disappear, they learned this because of squad twenty-six a squad they had worked with had vanished as well, the squad could do nothing about it though

eventually they learned what happened to their fellow parasites

after fighting several battles for papa, including the first battle for gran cravasse which left plantation 13 basically useless, and with nana and papa having disappeared as well, which didn't help, they eventually reappeared alongside the nines and a woman they didn't recognize

the woman was a tall and mature looking with brown-hair kept in a loose pony-tail

"hello my friends, i am kiriko hattori, faithful servant to lord ikari, we have come to collect you" she said

"collect us" ichigo asked, as the leader she nominated herself spokesperson

"papa intends to abandon us, we have seen his plans he intends to take the adults and leave us to die" alpha of the nines said in disgust, formerly loyal to APE and papa, his loyalty to his squad was however stronger, and keeping them safe was his priority as leader, when kiriko and shinji's behest came to them, they were at first enraged, but she backed up her words with proof

"we have already taken control of what is placed at gran cravasse having moved it from that location both under the klaxosaurs and papa's nose" delta of the nines said

"come with us, and we can show you a new brighter future, one of choice" kiriko said

"please come with us children" nana said, she had come to care for the kids she was in charge of, as had hachi, their operations commander

"are you sure, nana" zorome asked, nana nodded

"trust us, if you do not trust them, Dr. franxx is waiting as well" hachi said, that got the group to agree, sakuya was curious what the quiet boy had done, as they were all transferred to the vault

"squad thirteen is the last squad remaining, to collect, we will be going into cryosleep, to avoid us being put into danger, shinji will wake us up when we arrive and it is safe" nana said

"arrive where" kokoro asked

"our new home" was all the reply the squad received as they were gestured into their cryopods, and was put into sleep, before the adults placed themselves into cryosleep leaving shinji alone

for shinji had finally managed to contact misato
