"if that is your wish, i need to figure out where to put you" i said
"what do you mean" shukuyu asked
"this is a paramilitary organization, emphasis on the word military, there is a clear ranking structure, now i need to see, at the end of the conflict do you see yourselves staying on as pilots" i asked
"i do" moukaku said, he was a warrior he could do nothing else
"where he goes, i do as well" shukuyu said her eyes blazed with determination
"are you willing to go through the officer's course at the end of the conflict" i asked, the two nodded
"then i can list you as commissioned officers, and put down you'll go later, you'll both need to get tested, but i can have misato set that up, what rank should i give you, that doesn't insult the experience you two have, especially when using an underpowered tin can" i said, as i took a thoughtful pose
"which one of you would say is in charge" i asked, both of them pointed towards shukuyu
"moukaku was the main pilot, but i am the more tactical minded of us, generally keeping him in line" shukuyu said, i gave the two a look, hmm
"very well shukuyu you will be a lieutenant within our force, welcome to the vanguard" i said
"what about me" moukaku asked
"you my big friend will find out shortly, minister katsuragi will get you set up with uniforms, quarters, and your new unit, oh and don't break it your likely to get a megaframe and those are expensive, dismissed" i said with a small smirk on my face, the two saluted, and left their new commanding officer's office
minister katsuragi had tested them, to the surprise of no one, moukaku was compatible with a dragon spirit and so was bonded with one, taking on a dragon form, shukuyu was told she would become his rider, and would be completely responsible for him, this also meant anything he did would reflect on her as well, she nodded her understanding, as she looked at her fiance excitedly, the two were told it would be best if shukuyu bonded with a pandora as well, before being sent to their quarters with a list of units they could choose from
misato and shinji both knew they would likely be picking either the centurion or the impactor, and they were right, a centurion was put under shukuyu's name
"the centurion had the most weapons i am not surprised" i said, with a snort
"so when are you taking on a dragon and pandora of your own" misato asked, i shrugged
"not needed" i said
"shinji your the only one still using the old operating system for your EVA, asuka has one, so does rei" misato said, i shrugged again
"not needed" i repeated
"how long are you going to rely solely on unit-01" misato asked
"until unit-01 fails" i said, simply, in other words never, because they knew the only way unit-01 would fail is if adam and lilith showed up said sorry and bowed down to human superiority........................ yeah right
"sir another attack has occured" an officer said
"send out our new fireteam, let's let our newest pilots get some experience with their new unit, inform them that the fireteam is to return to the sovereign, but the centurion may move to danner base, and prepare our friends for our grand reveal" i said
"aye sir" came the response
the bridge crew of the sovereign watched utterly amused as the centurion's firepower obliterated the memetic beasts before them, hell the fireteam the centurion was apart of just watched the carnage ensue before returning to base, leaving the megaframe alone to move to danner base
"prepare unit-01 for launch" i ordered
"why" misato asked
"first off, since when have you questioned MY orders, secondly i feel that i should introduce myself to our new friends and make sure our newest recruits aren't sharing all of our secrets" i said
"understood" she said as she ordered unit-01s departure, then she stopped
"why aren't you taking a transport" she asked
"because i am paranoid, and have a feeling i'll need my EVAs healing properties, as well as it's combat capabilities" i said, she nodded, unhappy with that answer but he was
unit-01 had arrived just in time to face a memetic beast, and it did so with ferocious efficiency cutting through the enemy with it's dual longswords, which were heavily overhauled anti-ship swords to have beams going on both side and the tip of the blade to make two big ass swords which cut through most anything including memetic beasts like a hot knife through butter, once the beast in question was defeated it lifted one of deactivated longswords over it's shoulder, as it turned towards the centurion like an absolute badass (even if it wasn't shinji's intention)
"first minister" shukuyu said
"i figured i'd introduce myself to our new friends, i intend to bring our whole force here, we will branch out from here" i said
"yes sir" shukuyu said as she led the way back to danner base, where individuals were waiting
"i am Dr. kiriko aoi" she said
"first minister shinji ikari, pilot of the type-NEF01: adriel, and supreme commander of the organization: fallen vanguard, of which you know of my two newly recruited subordinates" i said nodding to the chinese, who both gave a salute to their commander in turn
"the supreme commander acts as a pilot isn't that rather dangerous" she asked, i scoffed
"name me one thing that can scratch my unit, i'll wait, that is why i am the leader, i can lead from the front and no one is likely to even be able to touch me, these two already know the might of my EVA especially moukaku" i said, simply, it was just a matter of fact, anything that had the potential to harm unit-01 would quickly be put down by shinji's piloting experience, and he could mow through everything else
"it is true, it is highly unlikely that anything exists that can damage the adriel, in any capacity, even if the pilot is incapacitated the unit can still function and will still defeat the enemy" moukaku said, he had inadvertantly received all of shinji's experiences through the EVA when he was placed inside it......................... it was not a pleasant experience, and one where he gained a deep respect for his commander
"now, my organization is adopting a wait and see, approach i wish to see how you idiots operate before i even bother giving the order to step in" i said
"how dare you" kiriko said insulted
"you have seen the power of our centurion, and his adriel, there are more units under the minister's command, in fact godanner, is like what was our goddiner is nothing more then paperweight, it is incredibly weak and me and moukaku could beat it without a mech at all" shukuyu said, she could just command moukaku into dragon form and despite being smaller then godanner, he'd rip the machine apart, they blinked, moukaku was known to boast, but shukuyu was definitely not, if she said they could do it, it was likely that they could
"if your that capable why don't you just step in now" she asked, but she received a shake of the head
"we would not be appreciated if we did that instead it would likely be the case you would fear us, no i think i'm good, for all the pain my people have gone through the deserve all the praise they receive, and not fear and scorn" i said
