NGE: vault of the fallen

CHAPTER 2

shinji had transferred his vault into NERV HQ, taking over terminal dogma as a result, he had the parasites, and a bunch of devils in cryostasis waiting to be awoken

when he told misato of his planned return, but misato sounded worried

misato katsuragi had hoped beyond hope that when shinji restored the human race organizations like NERV ceased to be a problem, now they had a new problem or rather two new problems, the first being the NOVA which were alien beings similar to the angels but instead of a barrier they manipulate time, fortunately it was learned that AT-fields could defend against it, bless shinji for allowing rei to keep her angel abilities, the other slightly more pressing problem was the BETA they didn't have any special powers per-say instead they attacked in hoards, and some of them had lasers that could shoot through all forms of defense, again except for the AT-field which was again learned through rei, misato was immediately ordered to begin work on constructing new EVAs but she had nothing to go on, with shinji's return she could potentially give the world powers what they wanted

arriving at HQ, she asked shinji to meet her in the commanders office, where she had three scientists with her, Dr. ritsuko akagi of course, Dr. gengo aoi, and Dr yuuko kouzuki

she found shinji in the commander's office as promised

"misato what did i step into" i asked

"well that depends do you have functioning EVAs" she asked

"uh.......... yes, why" i asked

"are you the one who restored the human race during the third impact event" the male asked

"yes, i am" i said

"then the world is in your dept, however your actions have inadvertantly brought alternate worlds together into one, changed are being made as Dr. kouzuki can further explain, it seems she is used to this at this point, and just to inform you i am Dr. gengo aoi, i am in charge of the NOVA problem" gengo said i nodded to him, and turned to the purple haired woman not named misato

"my world has experienced individuals hopping into other timelines before, this is radically different however, the timelines were all similar to one another this appears to be another universe altogether, i am yuuko kouzuki" she said

"shinji ikari" i said, before turning my attention to misato

"before i see if i can't figure out their problems i need to know something about ours, did everyone come back" i asked

"no, it seems you gave people the choice to return or not a select few did not your father, and SEELE are some of them, who did not return which is also why we are coming to you in the first place, you now own the EVA series" misato said, i blinked, as i sat down into my father's chair, placing my face into my hands

"explain please" i said

"SEELE gave full ownership of the EVA series to your father, it was a demand of his in return for helping them with his goals, i think he was planning everything that happened including you gaining control of third impact" misato said

"just in case the EVAs still existed after the fact, he knew i wouldn't abuse their power" i muttered, but it was loud enough for them to here

"exactly so the entirety of NERV, as well as your father's vast fortune, and the wealth you had accumulated for being a pilot for NERV, you are a very rich very powerful man" she said, i didn't know what to say

"EVAs in hanger. take them" i was able to say despite me being so overwhelmed

"i'm afraid it isn't that simple" gengo said, i looked up at that

"in the eyes of the UN, NERV won the war against the angels, they were all defeated and the human race survived" yuuko said

"what does that mean" i asked

"it means they are giving NERV both of the current problems and having us solve it commander" misato said

"what do you mean commander" i asked

"weren't you listening you inherited everything from your father including his position" yuuko said as if it weren't the most obvious thing in the world

"i need to speak with misato privately for a moment, misato would you come with me please" i asked desperately, she nodded

"of course shinji" she said, as she followed shinji into the elevator she noticed he hit the button which would lead them to terminal dogma

"do you remember what i told you prior to my arrival, of all the children still in stasis i promised them a better world, misato this is not better, i intended to hand all of my problems off to you, instead it seems i am receiving all of your problems instead, so misato i am going to show you just why i am not qualified to deal with this ridiculous situation we somehow find ourselves in" i said, as we entered terminal dogma, misato was confused, as the massive lake of LCL fluid was gone, the room looked well technological in nature with metal bulkheads surrounding them

"this is the archive of the vault" i said

"the vault" she asked not sure she wanted to know, shinji simply pointed to the giant computer in the room and she sat in the chair in front of it

"show full compliment of everything within the vault" i ordered and it did, and misato was getting more and more and more stunned and awed and overwhelmed by it all
