(Author's note)

Hey, it's been a minute...

Towards the end of summer, I was hit hard by the sad truth.

To put it frankly, my grandpa passed away...

I always knew at some point, one of my grandparents would be gone from my life. I thought I would be prepared. But I just fell to the floor and cried silently when I found out.

That happened at the end of July.

I don't think I've had time to really process all this since school started. I've also been stressed by schoolwork and school activities.

Sorry for putting all that out to you...For this chapter specifically, I guess I'm trying to cope through this. It was helpful, but not exactly what I need to cope.

Because of mainly school, I won't be able to post more chapters more frequently. I hope this explained why I wasn't posting at least one chapter.

WARNING: Angst, implied abuse, death of relative

"...What? How did this happen?"

"Results showed it was an overdose of alcohol. Drugs may have been involved, but we're still looking into further details."

INFP couldn't comprehend what was said to her.

What was going to happen to ENFP now?

Was he an orphan now?

She looked at her fiancé who looked just as astonished as her.

INFP asked, "...What are we going to tell him?"

"I'm sorry, but we must schedule the funeral. It will take at least a week."

Her stomach dropped.

Will ENFP be okay?

Would he be scarred for life?

ENTP asked, "What will happen to him?"

"Most likely he'll be in an orphanage or live in a group home."

"That can't happen! He's just a kid..."
INFP could already feel the tears coming down on her face as ENTP pulled her in for a tight hug. She pressed her head against his chest as she felt his body shaking.

His eyes were glassy and he rubbed her back.

"Shh, it's okay. We can figure this out."

"B-But how?"

"...I don't know."

The next day the couple came back, yet the mood was different.

ENFP was still in his room, doodling.

This was going to be difficult...

"Hey, buddy."

"Mr. ENTP!"

He gave him a big, wide smile.

God, this just makes it worse.

"I got some, um...got some news for you."

"Oh, okay. What is it?"

ENTP came over and sat on the bed as he motioned ENFP to come over. Now the boy was sitting between the couple.

"I feel like this isn't good news, is it?"

"No, it isn't sweetie." INFP fumbled with her fingers as she looked at the boy. Now tears were forming.
