Bumulaga si Adiel sa pintuan at tumili nang makita kami ni Rue. Literal akong napatalon sa matinding gulat nang makita ang kapatid kong may yakap na photobook at naka-backpack pa!
"Nandito ka rin?!"
"I bought her with me. Gusto kasing sumama," Rue chuckled. "Come here, Adie."
Humagikhik si Adiel at tuwang-tuwa sa pagkagulat ko. Wow! Ang angas naman netong dalawa!
"Hi, Mommy! Surprise!"
Gigil ko siyang niyakap. She's too happy and excited to notice my teary eyes. Hindi na ako umiiyak pero may luha pa ang mga mata ko.
Mukhang hindi makakatikim ng konyat sa akin si Jam. Pero bibirahin ko pa rin siya dahil hindi man lang niya pinaalam sa akin na pupunta pala ang dalawa!
"I'm with Dr. Vallejo, Mommy!" galak na galak na sabi ni Adie at tumalon. "Hindi mo sinabi na friends po pala kayo!"
Napatingin ako kay Rue. He made a pout. Pangiti ko siyang inirapan.
"Sabi ni Dr. Vallejo, matagal na po kayong friends. And he was your schoolmate before! I find it super amazing!"
"Yup," I pinched her cheeks. "Kumain ka na, mahal?"
"Yes! Dr. Vallejo treated me during our trip. Marami po kaming kinain! He spoils me!"
Rue chuckled and brushed her hair. "You really like little Rai."
Adiel shared with me how happy she was during the flight. Marami raw silang pinagkwentuhan ni Rue. Pigil na pigil nga raw siyang 'wag buklatin ang photobook namin dahil gusto niyang maririnig ko rin ang kwento niya.
Thankfully, there were fish vendors. Namili kami ng mga isda para sa tanghalian namin. May mga tira pa naman ako sa mga binili ko kahapon at 'yon ang pinakain ko sa dalawa para hindi sila magutom habang hinihintay akong makaluto.
"This is me, Doc," itinuro ni Adiel ang isang picture sa photobook. "When I was still in the womb."
Nakaupo silang dalawa sa kama, habang ako, nagluluto ng paksiw. Itini-tour na ni Adie si Rue sa photobook namin kaya hindi ko mapigilang matawa. She really wants everyone she likes to know where she came from and how cute she was as a baby!
"And this is Mommy," Adie pointed to me next to Claris Veneracion. "And this is my Daddy Jacobe. He's about to get married now. He's not my real father. But you know what? He spoils me like I'm his daughter. I love him so much because he loves me and Mommy."
Nagkatinginan kami ni Rue. There was a smile on his face. Akala ko magseselos!
"By the way po pala, do you know what a surrogate mother means?"
"Yes," Rue nodded attentively.
Adiel giggled. "This is Claris Veneracion, the pretty woman beside Mommy and Daddy. I was in her womb, but she's not my mother. My real mother is Irene Penelope Almendarez. She looks like Mommy. And my real father is Harold Sigmund Almendarez. I'm sad because I didn't meet them. But Mommy completes me."
Marami pang ipinakita si Adie na pictures kay Rue. It feels good to watch them, lalo na't magkasundo agad sila. Gustong-gusto ni Adie si Rue at mukhang kalilimutan na yata ako.
"Done! Kain na po!" tawag ko sa kanila.
Adie immediately handed the photobook to Rue carelessly. Natawa si Rue at inayos ang sinubsob lang na album.
