Dazzling
Ethereal
Infinite
A sight so heavenly
Cannot be described
By earth-bound words
No phrase
No metaphor at all
Could replicate its beauty
Azure and amethyst
Jade and pearl
The brightest star before fading away
The next day the sighting made it onto the news.
But in the moment it was just me and my dad
And the star
Liberated and carefree
Unburdened by the weight of the world
Showing us all that she made it
They say to close your eyes and make a wish
As the star glimmers through the night
But my eyes were transfixed and absorbed its light
And I forgot to make a wish
But it didn't matter
Because I knew
It could never have been
Quite as wonderful
As the sight before me
In this moment
I had found
The sublime sister of my solivagant soul
