Chapter 19

Beep. Beep. Beep.
That's all I could hear. That's all I've heard for the past hour. I've tried moving, but my body feels like it's filled with cement. I can't open my eyes either. I've heard Darren's sobs too. As bad as it sounds it reassures me that he's okay.
"Kaiya. Please." He pleaded. "Open your eyes. I can't live without you. I love you. With all of my me. You make me the happiest guy on earth. Please Kaiya. I need you."
"I need you too" I whispered as I finally managed to open my eyes.
He looked at me and wiped the tears from his face.
"You're alive." He said quietly, smiling. "I love you."
"I love you too." I smiled. "Water?" He nodded and walked to the sink. Grabbing a cup and filling it with water, carrying it over to me. I took the cup and brought it to my lips, drinking it all quickly.
"Darren" I looked up at him.
"Yes?"
"How long?"
"How long..?"
"Was I asleep."
"Oh. 3 weeks." He said.
"Is Percy okay?" I asked.
"Yes. His mate helped heal him."
"His mate?" I questioned.
"Yeah. Her name is Hope. When we attacked she managed to escape. The hunters were holding her captive, doing tests on her. She has wolf in her. She can't shift. Her mom and dad are part wolf part witch. Their witch gene is stronger." He explained. I nodded before looking at him.
"Is everyone okay?" I asked.
"Well." He said, taking a deep breath. "Not everyone."
"Zac." I said, remembering the pain I felt before I blacked out.
"Yes." He nodded. "No one from our pack died. 11 Did from Zac's pack. One of them was Brielle."
I nodded slowly as I stared at the wall.
He sat next to me on the bed and put his arm around me.
Brielle is dead. My only sister. Gone.
A tear ran down my face and he pulled me closer.
"Why does it hurt so much? " I whispered as tears cascaded down my face. "She was so mean. Yet it hurts so bad."
I gripped his shirt tighter as he pulled me onto his lap.
"I know Princess. I know it hurts. I am so sorry. But I am always here. I always will be." He grabbed my left hand, pointing to his ring. "This shows it. You are mine. Forever and Always."
I pulled him to me and kissed him.
"Darren." He looked at me. "I have to pee." He laughed and helped me to the bathroom.

After I got dressed I was cleared to leave so I went to see Percy.
Darren took me to the pack house and I found him in the living room, talking to his mate.
As soon as I walked in his head shot up and he ran over to me, pulling me to him.
"You're okay!" He yelled.
"Yeah. I'm okay." I said.
He looked at me with tears in his eyes and I knew he was thinking about Brielle. I nodded and he held me tighter.
"Why don't you tell me who the jealous girl is." I whispered, looking over his shoulder at the girl who was glaring.
He let go and waved her over.
"This is Hope." He put his arm around her. "My mate." He proudly stated.
I smiled and stuck out my hand.
"I am Kaiya. Percy's sister. Nice to meet you." She took my hand and smiled as relief washed over her face.
"I've heard a lot about you." She said.

After I left them I went outside to see everyone. I was immediately tackled by 2 heavy people. I grunted and pushed them off of me.
"Look. I missed you guys too. But try not to kill me." I laughed. They both nodded and hugged me.
I was with the boys and Addy for a few hours before I went to get Darren for dinner.
I found him in our room on the phone. I walked in quietly and listened.

"She is our child. You cannot have her. She is mine." He snarled.

"It's war then." He growled before hanging up.
He looked up at me and shook his head.
"Addys Mom, Liliana. She belonged to a pack, but no one knew she was half witch. Her old pack found out and they want Addy. This is the third time their alpha has called." He said.
"Our luck is nonexistent." I mumbled, shaking my head.
"Is Addy asleep?" I asked.
"Julianna has her." He said. I nodded and walked down the hall, knocking on her door before walking in.
"Kaiya!" Julianna yelled, leaping over Addy who was playing with dolls on the floor.
She pulled me into a hug and I smiled.
"How is she?" I asked, looking at her. She's gotten so big.
"She missed you." Julianna said.
"Addy." I said. She looked up and smiled, stumbling to her feet and running over.
"I misses you!" She yelled, holding onto my leg.
"I missed you too." I giggled, picking her up.

I was sitting in my room packing ours bags while Addy sat on the floor playing with her toys.
Darren had explained the situation to our pack members and we decided that this is our war with our pack, so we are going back to our territory.
Everyone agreed that Layton and Julianna should stay and take over Zac's pack since they no longer have an Alpha or Luna.
"Let's go to bed." I said, picking up Addy and taking her to her room as she yawned and nodded.
I laid her down and went back into my room.
Darren was already laying down so I crawled in bed next to him.
"Darren?" I said after we had laid there for a few minutes.
"Yeah?"
"How long?" I asked.
"Until what?"
"Until we have to fight again." I said.
"We'll all go home tomorrow. And then we'll just have to wait." He shrugged. "I wasn't given a time range. But I do know it's about a five day trip to his land. So we have a few days at least."
I nodded and sighed.
"I'm tired." I whispered. "Tired of having to fight."
"I know Kaiya. Me too. But after this one we won't have to anymore. I promise."
