bid you

Well, I guess when we were young,
We were playing innocent.
At every glance I make, you secretly peek back at me.
Oh, how we were playing hard to get!

Oh, now I understand it all:
You knew how I loved you so much.
What I don't know is if you loved me back,
But, what the hell? It doesn't matter anymore.

I guess that makes us the same:
Bits of debris floating on the raging sea.
We never had the courage to take a dive,
And now, don't you think we're not alive?

I fancied you ever since my eyes were closed.
Your beauty radiates through me, you're God to me.
Whatever imperfections you have...
No, I don't think you have any,
And I guess that's what made me love you.

The day before our lives would drift apart,
I tried to tell you what's inside my aching heart.
I don't know how it happened,
But when I uttered a word,
My world crumbled down,
While your world flourishes with a beautiful tomorrow.

You unknowingly left me stranded on this crowded little island of mine.
You never looked back to me one last time.
Hell, I guess it's all my fault,
Sprinkling all our wounds with salt.

Oh well, I guess those scientists are right,
People are only animals but with reason.
But in every season,
I remember the times when you look at me,
You see through me, but I can't see through you.

Now, I bid you adieu.
Time to turn myself into another leaf,
Time to flip myself to my other side.
You'll fade away one day from my mind, and that is better, right?

Guess only time has the power to heal things right.
