As the snowflakes morphed into freshly crafted ice,
I watched the crystals fall from the misty grey skies
Footsteps dotted the snow white sheet,
As the soldiers marched away in a sign of defeat

The world was draped in a blanket of peace,
As the words drifted on in the violent breeze
A heaviness lingered in the biting cold air,
To utter a word, nature didn't dare

My hair danced wildly in the angry wind,
My feet were anchored, my arms were pinned
To the dream-like fantasy I'd mystically plunged,
I dragged my feet off, to the crystals I'd lunged

He decided to abandon me on the battlefield,
Now my heart and soul, my emotions I'll shield
All that remained was a whisper of silence,
That drowned out all the heartbreak and all the violence.
