I quickly sped out of the parking lot before I got more of a beating. I was stupid to think that nothing would happen just because it was my first day. This always happens and it always will.
The second I walked through the front door, my mom engulfed me in a hug. “Oh honey, how was school?” she asked, already knowing the answer. When I didn’t answer, she pulled back and looked over my body. “Oh darling, come here.
At this point I was crying. She led me to the bathroom downstairs and started to clean the blood off. Lucky then didn’t hit my face. I keep my head protected the most. 1) Because damage to the head can be very bad, 2) because if I walk into school the next day with a bruise on my face they will just start calling my weak and start hitting me and etc. etc.…
When my mom finished, she pulled me in for another hug and told me to go lye down. I obeyed and made my way to my bed to take a much needed nap.
