Chapter 15

Taking a deep breath, I pushed my bag onto my shoulder and started my walk into school. Even though it was impossible that anyone but the pack would know about my relationship with Paul, I couldn't help but feel anxious. I had felt the same way when I got home to see my dad waiting. He had accepted the story we had come up with but I still couldn't help but feel guilty. I mean, it was my dad who I usually told everything to. Now I had two secrets from him. The supernatural world and the fact that I'm technically dating one of my teachers.

I shifted my eyes between the students and teachers around me, going about their daily lives like nothing had happened. Well I guess nothing really did that would affect them. I would be like them. Walking around believing the supernatural creatures of legend were just stories if I hadn't been imprinted on by Paul. I would still be crushing on him from afar and caring more about silly things like shopping for prom then knowing the truth as to what was out there.

"Hey girl," a chipper voice said besides causing me to jump slightly. Turning my head to the side, Gabriella was staring over at me trying to hold back her laughter at my expense.

"Geez Gabriella, are you trying to give me a heart attack?" I asked continuing my walk down the hall having drawn enough attention from our antics. She fell in easily beside me following me to my locker.

"Are you mad at me?" Gabriella asked as she leaned against the locker next to mine. I turned my head slightly, halting the stuffing of my books and bag into my locker to look at her. Looking at her fully, I could see that she did seem a little nervous which was odd for the outgoing girl I've come to call a friend.

"No, of course not. Why would you think that?" I asked grabbing my notebook for my first class and shutting my locker door.

She shrugged. "I just didn't know if you would be because I didn't tell you about everything dealing with the boys," she said tilting her head to the side ever so slightly, giving her the look of a curious puppy.

"I wouldn't hold that against you. It wasn't your secret to tell. But know that I know, let's promise to tell each other if we know something is going on," I teased. She smiled and linked her arm through mine.

"Deal," she said as we began to walk to our first class. As surprised as I was to learn about the boys and their world, I was happy to have some friends that I could talk to about things. I wasn't the only one who had gone through this. Gabriella and Stacy made it though and look at them now. They did it. So would I.

The rest of school went smoothly. I was still suspicious and anxious at the beginning of the day but as it progressed, I started to relax. No one was going to find out and none of the group was going to say anything. It wasn't until Gabriella and I were changing for gym that I became nervous again. Paul would be there and as much as I wanted to go up and kiss him, I couldn't. I had to treat him like I would any other teacher.

"You ready to see your boy?" Gabriella teased causing Stacy to giggle. I swatted at her and shushed them both, looking around at the other girls in the locker room. They weren't paying us any attention but that didn't mean they couldn't hear.

"Are you crazy? We need to be careful about this and your blabbing mouth isn't going to help," I replied knowing my face was flushing a little bit. I can't say I hadn't been looking forward to this class all day just because I'd get to see Paul but I couldn't lose myself. This was a huge deal. We could both get in serious trouble if anyone at school found out about us. I didn't want that to happen.
