Well it's often caused by a traumatic event, not always but mine was.
When I was younger, 9 years old, my family and I were in New York City like every summer and we decided to go to the Elk café and get a hot chocolate but whilst we were there, there was a shooting

Yeah, it was.
Anyway, they shot randomly for a while and I got under the table with my sister but my parents didn't and they were both shot.
I saw them Tommy. Dead on the floor. It was awful Tommy you have to understand.

So that's why I have misophonia. What the doctors said is any noise that was happening at the time has been engrained into my brain as a 'triggering' noise, so typing, eating, drinking, dogs barking, steam machines, and guns obviously.
Last night I had a dream we were in that café.
I screamed at you to get down, but you wouldn't listen. You just smiled at me as if nothing was wrong. And then down you went. Just like my parents.
I won't lose you Tommy. I can't.
