I brushed my teeth and rubbed my eyes from the drowsiness of waking up. I stayed up last night texting with kaneki but he ended up going to sleep first leaving me thinking about all the theories he put into my head.

I grabbed the cup of water and rinsed my mouth

I wiped my mouth as I walked back out of the bathroom and grabbed my sword, school bag, and the lunch I made for myself as I rushed out to meet kaneki.

I walked up to the corner where me and kaneki usually part ways after school when I saw him in the distance and waved.

"Good morning" I said making it to him.

"Good morning...did you do the homework?" He asked when I flinched.

"Ah- we had homework?" I asked.

"I thought I texted you about it" kaneki said.

"You probably did I just don't remember" I sighed.

"Yo kaneki" I heard hide as he walked up to us "rin" he said.

"Oi why did your voice change when you said my name" I glared.

"we're going to be late" kaneki said and walked ahead.

"Geez" I sighed as we walked.

"Hey I've been meaning to ask what's with the bag?" Hide asked.

"Oh it's nothing really...just a keepsake from my dad so I bring it with me everywhere" I said.

"Where is he Now?" hide asked when I faltered.

"H-Hide" kaneki said when hides eyes widened as he realized what he said.

"Oh- I'm sorry man I forgot honest" hide said.

"It's no big deal...let's just get going" I said and walked ahead.

He didn't seem like he did it on purpose...we may bicker but he's not like that...I hope...if he really did ask that on purpose then I really want to punch him. I balled up my fist.

"R-rin are you ok?" I heard kaneki say when I looked to him.

"I'm fine" I said as we walked into the school grounds.

It's still kinda awkward between us...I can't really blame him though I kinda just pushed myself into his routine life.

"E- Excuse me" I heard as the three of us looked to a girl.

Who's this chick?

"Hello" hide smiled when I looked at my phone.

"Um...I've been meaning to ask...can I get your number" I heard her say when it went silent.

I looked up to see her holding her phone out towards me and stood dumbfounded and looked around seeing hide laughing at me while kaneki sighed.
