If we hadn't met
That beautiful day
Would we be together
Just the same way?
If I hadn't caught that bus
Nor you that train
Or the weather was askew
With heavy rain
Would it feel
As heavenly and divine
Had we crossed paths
At another time?
Would our eyes meet
At the coffee store
Longing to talk
A little more?
Happened to meet
At a bar by chance
Would you ask me
For a close dance?
Life has choices
Hundreds a day
And yet we ended
Together this way.
