6 | ode to tragedy

The face of the bright morning star
Look ahead and face the new day
Must see if you could reach that far
All is lost and all is astray
Seek the bright morning stars up high
And see if tragedy passed by
Be the one to witness failure
Of a strong soul, one could be sure

The bright morning star of ancient
Have been watching me fall apart
Watching my most tragic descent
And wanting me to take heart
But I was broken and shattered
My good deeds have all been scattered
My soul was cast to oblivion
And became my condemnation

Oh! So bright and strong for a star
Who can never be my savior
While watching his child gather scars
How strong its bright heart would tear more
Streams of his love he has given
His child is me, I was taken
Away from him, whose heart suffered
For too long, Death shall be offered

I stared high upon slavery
Wondered if he had been caring
About his lost child, about me
I doubted him, and start running
Away from him, many are the lies
That surrounded me and cut ties
That day, I went back to my home
And he was gone, returned to loam

I stared high upon slaveryWondered if he had been caringAbout his lost child, about meI doubted him, and start runningAway from him, many are the liesThat surrounded me and cut tiesThat day, I went back to my homeAnd he was gone, returned to loam

Six days after that previous poem, I wrote this ode as a way to review for my English test that talks about adverbs. I know, rad.

This is an ode, following the traditional structure of an ode (I googled, don't come at me) and I think I butchered the eight syllables per line part. Hey, I tried.

This poem has some sort of mythological vibe there. I remember having the narrator be a child of the sun and they went away for a while. The sun kept on calling them back just to see them one last time and they wouldn't go. When they do go back, they found out that the sun has died.

Sad.

So, in your lives, don't ever ignore people who are reaching out. Maybe they need to see you one last time too.

What do you think of the poem? Comment below. :)
