As if expecting miracle floods to rise
As if hoping more solutions would suffice
Hoping for something that didn't exist
Maybe it was something that would resist
Possessing a thing seemed to be impossible
Looking for clues that seemed plausible
Searching and hoping for something called love
And what about it, that things we couldn't have
And we were waiting slowly
As if our love would end up sorry
You were hoping and I was searching
For something, when we should be waitingTurn around, we see each other now
Look back, what is that sound?
Look up, and what is it that you have found?
Dare to peek longer, on Heaven's doors you will pound
Searching for that thing that will complete us
And we fell for something we can't address
And this is love, like a star in midnight
Shining strong, brilliant, shining bright
We were suddenly in each other's arms
Wishing time would stop in its tracks
But, alas, that can't be so
And you were gone, where did you go?That last night I held on to you
And you turned to me, with your eyes bright blue
Stared deep inside me like dark blue skies
And I prayed that you would tell me no lies
Yet you smiled, your eyes making that gleam
That could make any man dream
Of you, who made me like a fool
But you were a fool too, even for a little while
You told me you were sorry with a voice like wool
And I half-expected that you weren't so vile
But that hope turned sour as you walked away
And I was left standing, without anything to sayYou told me to keep waiting
To keep that hope in me that I would bring
Every day, you expect me to hope more
But seeing you drift away, your soul soar
I look up and saw the stars have aligned
Then I finally see that we've been declined
To be together, to see that thread that will bind
We are not destined together, but we have signed
That contract that will suddenly disappear
All those memories, all those sounds I hear
I see you drift away from your aimless roam
Yet I'll be here, waiting for you to come homeThis is one of my latest poems and that structure is what you're going to be seeing for the rest of the poems that follow. Unless I change it.
I remember writing this poem back to back with the next poem, Variations of Time, at a gathering. I was bored and no one was talking to me so I got my notebook and wrote four poems, two of which are the translations of these two poems into my native language. I know.
So, what do you think of this poem? Comment below. :)
