Staring at the side of Romes face, Alora watched him closely as he drove. He'd massage his temples occasionally while tapping his fingers on the steering wheel. Hee hadn't said a word since they left Cruz office and it was killing Alora slowly. She just knew something was bothering him.

Feeling her eyes burn a hole in his right cheek he glance over at her while at the red light. "What's wrong Ma?" he said, lightly squeezing her thigh.

"No, better question what's wrong with you? Are you mad at me?" she pouted.

Rome chuckled, switching hands on the steering wheel he reached for Aloras hand. "I told you I'm not mad at you. What typa nigga would I be to want you speak ya truth but get mad when you? I'm proud of you Lo. You normally don't speak on to much so some of stuff you said did catch me off guard but I respect it."

"Well smile or something nigga," she playfully pushed his shoulder. "You look like something weighing on ya mind."

"Because it is," he said focusing back on the road now that the light turned green. "Okay do tell," she said growing impatient.

He chuckled. "I asked Keisha to join us today but she didn't show." Alora neck snapped back. "Say what now? Matter a fact. Take me to Mama Liz crib cause I know her dumb ass probably there."

Rome glance over at Alora placing her hair in a high ponytail, he laughed. "Now why would I take you to Mama Liz?" he asked already knowing the answer.

"So I can beat Kiesha ass duh." she said removing her earrings. As much as Rome would've loved to see Alora drag Keisha, she wasn't worth it. For Keisha to always talk about repairing their relationship only not to show when he's finally gives her a chance spoke volumes. He knew she was all talk but now he had proof. He did his part by inviting her and she basically gave him her ass to kiss by not showing.

"Babe stop and look at me," he said shifting his attention back and forth between the road and Alora in the passenger seat. "Nah cause iont like that shit. She literally begged you for years for a chance and do this shit?" she wore the look of irritation.

"Fuck Keisha. I admit I wish she'd show up because I had a lot of shit I wanted to get off my chest but she didn't so I gotta let that shit go. She been controlling my life for the last twenty six years and I can't let that continue. She didn't show, cool. I ain't dwelling on that. Today showed me who's really in my corner and who's not," he grabbed her hand and kissed it.

A smile appeared across her face, she was so proud of Rome. He could of easily fall back into a funk behind his mother like usually when she let him down but he pushed through it. She could tell he felt some type of way but he wasn't trying to let it effect him. Mother or not she wasn't good for his mental and Alora would be damned if she was the reason he backed tracked on his progress.

"I'm really proud of you." she lent over the center console to kiss him.

Rome phone rung from the Bluetooth making her pull way. He answered after the third ring. "Hey baby, how was therapy ?" Ny voice came through the speakers.

A smile appeared on his face at the sounds of her voice. "Wsp baby girl, Uh it was good, at least me and Lora session was."

"I take it Keisha didn't show?" she questioned. "Nope," he shook his head although she couldn't see. "But I ain't tripping over her. It's her lost."

"Definitely her lost. She'll never be able to have a relationship with her son but I do think talking to her may have given you the closure you wanted."
