Emily's POV
Maras birthday is Saturday, she will be turning 5. It's crazy,
A year ago I didn't even want kids, but I am so glad JJ kept pushing about mara, I couldn't even imagine my life without that little girl anymore,
It's currently Thursday and the entire team is in the office catching up on some paperwork,
Mara sat contently on JJs lap as she sat on my desk, clearly interrupting my work, but we had all taken a break anyway
"You guys need to find schools too dont you?" Penelope ask and I nod
"Yea, pretty soon" JJ says
"Are you doing private or public or some other kind?" Derek ask
"Private"
"Public"
"We are not sending her to a public school" I tell JJ
"I went to a public school" she says and I sigh
"I'm not saying there is something wrong with it but come on" I say and she sighs
"Maybe this is something we should talk about later?" She says and I nod, knowing it's probably not the best thing to argue about schools in front of our entire team
Once our break was over JJ took Mara back to her office and I completed my work before meeting the two of them in her office
"You done?" JJ ask and I nod and pick Mara up from her lap
"Yea. You?" I ask and she nods and grabs her bags as we leave her office
We got home around 4 and Mara went to the living room while we stayed in the kitchen
"Public schools? Really?" I ask and she sighs
"Emily, I liked public, I got to find myself in high school my own identity," she says and I sigh
"Jayje, I'm not saying I disagree but I want her in private; it's a closed campus, and with our jobs it's much safer. She will still be able to do what you said in a private school" I say and she sits down at the table
"What if we just keep her home?" She ask
and I smile
"I would love to keep her away from all the horrors of the world, but you know we can't" I say and she nods
"I know, I just don't want to think about her going to school already," she says and I walk over and sit next to her
"I can't believe she'll be 5 Saturday'" I say and she groans
"Don't remind me" she says and I chuckle
"So we decided, private?" I ask and she glares at me but nods
"Fine, but only because I want her to be safe" she says and I nod
JJ and I soon started dinner and Mara came out and wanted to help us,
JJ helped her wash her hands and sat her on the kitchen counter so she could help
"You need to be very careful, it's hot" I tell her and she nods
"I'll be careful mommy" she says and I smile and kiss her head
"I know you will" I smile
The three of us then began to finish dinner, and surprising me there wasn't much of a mess at all
Once we were done the three of us sat in our own chairs and ate
"Alright ladybug, let's get in the bath and we can watch a movie before bed" JJ says and mara nods and runs back the hall
