After school, I found myself walking home from school alone with no one to talk to. The only neighbor I was friends with was Wendy Peffercorn. The only reason why I couldn't like talk to her on the way home was because she was a highschooler.

As I was walking, I saw a Uhaul truck next to our house. I wondered who was moving in, maybe another girl, or a sandlot boy. I glanced over and found a boy my brother's age bringing the boxes into the house. He's definitely going to be one of them. He seemed nice though, and totally innocent. I should tell Lisa to date someone like him.

I entered my house and saw my mom cooking something.

"What are you cooking Mom?" I asked.

"Pasta, Alan and his friends are coming to our house later," she said.

"Again?" I shouted.

"Don't act like you hang out with Lisa, Cynthia, and Nicole all the time!" she grinned.

"Fun fact, they actually hate me now!" I yelled.

"How?" she asked.

"I said something and they got mad!" I explained.

She turned around and looked down, "Sorry about whatever happened, just say you're sorry."

"But I'm not."

She sighed and went back to cooking.

An hour later, Alan and his friends approached inside the house.

"Benny hit a homer so we can't play no more!" he yelled.

"We can just play tomorrow, just get a new ball," Benny said.

"Anyways, do you boys want some pasta?" Mom offered. They all nodded their heads.

"YES!" they yelled.

They went over to the dining table and enjoyed their food. I was just sitting on the couch, minding my own business.

A few minutes later, Benny stood up from his seat and walked up to me. "I don't feel like finishing this, do you want some?"

I shook my head. "Nah, I'm good."

"Wanna play ball with us tomorrow? I know Lisa is mad at you and stuff, but you gotta have something distract you!" he said.

"I'm fine being alone, I have Wendy!" I grinned.

He chuckles, "You need friends your age."

I gave him a slight smirk. "I don't care."

He smiled. "Okay, whatever. If you change your mind, after school- meet at Vincent's drug store. Okay?"

I nodded my head. "Acting like I would remember, but alright."

He smiled and walked back to the table. "Talk to ya later."

"There is no later!" I yelled back to him. He rolled his eyes and sat back down.

About an hour later, the boys left and went back to their houses. I was cleaning the dishes with Alan.

"Do you like Benny?" he asked.

"No, I don't," I said while scrubbing a plate.

"Yeah yeah you do!" he yelled.

"I don't, and pass me more soap," I demanded. He handed me the soap and smiled in a weird way.

"You do, admit it!" he shouted. I rolled my eyes at him.

"I would never."

He started grinning at me. "One day you will!"

"Ok whatever Yeah-Yeah, at least I didn't like Lisa!" I teased.

"Hey!" he yelled slapping my arm. "I thought she was your friend!"

I sighed. "She's mad at me."

"Ooooo- drama," he chuckled.

"Mind your own business, fifth grader," I scoffed. He shoved my shoulder which almost made me drop the plate.

"You made me almost drop it!" I yelled.

"Too bad," he said back. We heard footsteps coming down the stairs, it was Mom.

"Stop playing around and wash the dishes!" she yelled. I turned around and saw she was wearing a fancy dress.

"Why are you wearing that?" I asked.

"I'm going on a date with one of my co-workers," she explained. "No fooling around when I'm gone, go straight to bed."

Alan and I both nodded our heads.

"Yeah yeah we will," he said. Mom came over to us and gave a tight hug.

"Okay, I'm going to leave now," she says pulling away, "Behave!"

She went out the door and locked it. Alan and I finished washing the dishes and went straight up to our rooms.

"Let's go to bed now," I said.

"Yeah yeah goodnight," he shook his head. I patted his head and went to my room.

I snuggled myself up into a blanket, getting ready to sleep. Honestly, I didn't know if Lisa was still mad at me. I only said one sentence, that's it. Also, Cynthia is always by her side, which annoyed me. Maybe one day I should make new friends, I don't know. I know for sure that they're still mad at me.
