Y/n's pov:

We all finally decided to go back to our houses for lunch.

Benny approached me and tapped my shoulder. "Hey Y/n, do you wanna like go out for lunch to like McDonald's or something?" he asked.

"Yeah sure, I'll tell Yeah-Yeah to tell my mom I'm going with you," I said, nodding my head.

He smiled at me, "Great, just come to my house in like 10 or 15 minutes, if your mom lets you. If she doesn't, just call me."

I smiled back. "See you," I waved. I walked back to my house and Alan was still waiting for Mom to open the door.

I knocked on the door. BANG BANG!

She finally opened it, holding a full wine glass in her hand.

"Hey kids," she says while taking a sip. "Come in!"

We went inside and sat at the counter.

"What do you guys want for lunch?" she asked.

I sighed, "Well, a friend asked me if I can eat at Mcdonald's with them for lunch."

Mom tilted her head. "Which friend? Lisa? Cynthia? Nicole?"

I shook my head. "No Mom, I'm talking about Benny."

"Oooohhhhh...." he squealed. I punched his shoulder. "Ow," he mumbled.

"Oh great, one of Alan's friends. How about you take him with you so I don't have to make lunch?" she says, taking another sip of her wine.

He moved his head over to my ear. "I thought it was a date," he whispers to me.

I shoved his shoulder. "Fine Mom, I'll take him."

She smiles, "Okay sweetie, thank you."

I nodded my head, "No problem," I mumbled. I followed Alan out of the door and we walked over to Benny's house.

"So... are you two dating?" he asked.

I rolled my eyes. "What do you think?" I said.

"No way," he gasps, "my sister is dating another baseball boy?"

"Surprise," I mumbled, waving my hands.

We finally made it to his house, I rang the doorbell. Benny opened the door with a confused look on his face.

"Hey Y/n, why is Yeah-Yeah here?" he asked, pointing at him.

"Oh, Mom just said that she doesn't feel like cooking something for him so she told me to bring him," I explained.

Benny licked his lip, looking down at his shoes. "Damn, okay," he says, shaking his head.

"Let's walk to McDonald's already! I'm hungry!" Alan whined.

Benny rolled his eyes. "Okay, let's go now so Yeah-Yeah can stop being such a baby."

"Hey, at least I'm not dating in middle school!" he yelled.

Benny and I looked at each other. "Yeah, I told him," I said. "Just the fact we're like 'together', you know?"

He shook his head, "Makes sense."

We started walking over to the nearest Mcdonald's. We stayed completely silent, it was just Yeah-Yeah complaining and whining.

Once we got inside, we told Alan to find an empty table for us to sit in. That child wanted a Happy Meal, isn't he too old for those? Benny and I lined up.

"What are you going to get?" he asked, turning his head over to me.

"I don't know, maybe just a cheeseburger," I mumbled.
