A plot are connected events that happen, cause each other and result in each other.
A plot is essentially a problem.

A problem gets introduced, this causes conflict. The situation gets resolved.

You don't necessarily need a plot, there is an audience for vignettes, but that audience is small.

Unless you want to write yourself into a corner, try to come up with the ending. With an ending in mind, you have a much easier time. You can try to just wing it, but then prepare to greet Mr. Writer S. Block.

When you know your ending, you may not need a lot of outlining. But still have some notes and a basic outline. And do not make cryptic poems as your only note. I did this twice and paid twice for my stupidity.

When you know your end, start as close to it as you can. Fill out the gaps later.

While Ezn has Crossovers as a sub topic, I will give Crossovers their own chapter. The same goes for romance/shipping.
