Sometimes, writers struggle just to get words onto the paper white.
Every person is different. Some people may need a break and have to do something else, like painting or reading, while some do best by just pushing though it and forcing themselves to write. That is what my One Shots are for. They often Writers block break through writing. This forced writing is often of less quality, so I write something else than my main projects when I push through. Or work on my translations.
I can just say, try out any method you can think of and see what sticks.
Just don't worry. Fanfiction is a hobby, it is supposed to be fun. Just enjoy yourself, you don't owe anyone.
The same goes for original writing as well, but too many have a grinding mind set and need to monetize their writing, which can so easily create a blockade.
