Purple crocus, focus your view
From the mountain top, peak through
The veil of fog, come and renew
My faith in life, though few

Reach up to brush, rush to touch
The sagging sky, sigh as you clutch
Drops of heaven, maybe a crutch
A chance to meet again, so such

Is spring, the renewal it brings
Air is bright, song birds ring
But some are tethered; they cling
To the dead grass and snow; go, fling

It far, fall down the mountain side
Find somewhere else it can reside
For winter's chill we cannot abide
Seasons change, flowers need no longer hide
