The Announcement

Damien's POV-
I woke up with my head hurting like a thousand elephants were stomping it. Suddenly, the flashbacks of last night started appearing in front of my eyes. How sweet Lia's lips tasted and how I confessed about my thoughts towards Lia to others. Though I don't think I even made sense. Yet I am not ashamed of it. I wanted to know what Lia might be thinking about my confession, but she didn't spoke a word about it. Strange. There was a knock on my door. "Come in." One of the maids entered.

"Ser, mister Kellouey prosit vas v svoyem kabinete ." She said. [Translation: Sir, Mr. Calloway is asking for you in his office.]

"Ya budu tam cherez 15 minut." I said and she left to deliver the message [Translation: I'll be there in 15 minutes]

My father is a Russian Mafia leader and no one really knows about it as he hides his true identity to stay safe from his enemies. To the world we are a family who owns many bars, clubs, casinos, restaurants, hotels and cafés. Well no one knows except my family, Sebastian's family and Lia's parents and some of our trusted men. I don't know I'd Lia k Iss or not but by looking at her behaviour I don't think she knows a fuck about mafia. As I was walking to my father's office I got a really bad feeling about it. I knocked on the door before going inside.

"Dobroye utro, otets." I said as I entered. [Translation: Good morning father.]

"Dobroye utro, sadis'." [Translation: Good morning sit.]

"Ty zval menya?" [Translation: You called me?]

"Da, ty zaymesh' moye mesto cherez mesyatsa." [Translation: Yes, you will be taking my place in a month.]

"What?! You told me I won't be a leader until I finished my university!" I said in disbelief.

"Nu ya peredumal." [Translation: Well, I changed my mind.]

"What do you mean you changed your mind?" I almost forgot I was talking to my father. And he never liked when someone shouts on him.

"Sledite za svoim tonom, molody chelovek. Vy nachnete cherez mesyatsa, i na etom obsuzhdeniya zakonchitsya. Ty mozhesh uyti seychas." [Translation: Watch your tone young man. You will be starting in a month and that's the end of discussion. You can leave now.]

I stormed out of his office fuming in rage. How can he do this? He promised me and now he is breaking it. Well it's nothing new to me but I thought that he would really keep this one. I reached my parking lot, pulled out my Mercedes-Benz AMG SL and drove past the mansion. I need to tell Sebastian and work something out with his dad. After all his dad is second in command. That's how I met Sebastian. I really hope he can talk it out with my dad.

Lia's POV-
I woke up to. Y head pounding. I went to the kitchen to grab some water. As I passed my dad's office I heard my parents talking about something in Russian. I always think that they speak in Russian to hide things from me. I went to kitchen thinking why they never taught me Russian. Well, if they don't teach me Russian I will learn it by myself. I went to my room and downloaded Duolingo. I started my Russian lessons from scratch. I didn't went to university as I couldn't face Damien after yesterday.

Time passed soon and it was already 4:30 pm. My phone pinged with a notification. I unlocked my phone to see a message from an unknown number.

Unknown: Hey!
Lia: Who's this?
Unknown: Wow! Forgot me already? Vrag?! [Translation: Enemy]
Lia: Damien?!
By now I knew some Russian to know that 'vrag' meant 'enemy'.
Unknown: Got it correct that easily? Impressive! Didn't thought you knew Russian!
Lia: Well, I just learned some Russian.
Damien: Why didn't you come to university today?
Lia: Didn't feel like coming today.
Damien: Oh okay. You will come tomorrow?
Lia: Yeah, I will.

Before Damien could reply there was a knock on my door. "Come in." A maid entered. "Mam, you have to go to ball with Sir and Madam tomorrow night." She said keeping the box of dress and heels on my table. "Thank you." I replied and she left.

That was strange. We never went to ballroom dancing.
